The Marriage of the Lamb has Taken Place in the Heavens, Amen T.F.D.S.
by EliJah in7 let us rejoice and be overjoyed, and let us give him the glory, because the marriage of the lamb has arrived and his wife has prepared herself.
1 and i saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more.
2 i saw also the holy city, new jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from god and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Should I go to the Docs?
by Jordan inok, earlier i was sitting here on the pc, when my mum comes in and says it looks like i've got a lump behind my ear, i go and have a look, and she's right, there's a lump one side, but not behind my other ear, so i'm pretty sure it's not part of my skull.
now i didn't notice this before.
but after i was told about it, i swear it's starting to hurt... is it worth getting checked out by the doc, or is it one of those things you can leave and it'll go away?

if so, did it stink?

Whats the worst dish you ever served???
by Tez ini am a reasonable cook when i can be bothered (as paulj will hopefully confirm) but often resort to quick and easy methods, packet mixes, tins etc.. whereas my parner is a brilliant cook!!
leave him in the kitchen for a little while and he produces something from scratch that is delicious.
so today i decided to extend my culinary skills!

Numbers are extremely important to them. Since the Service Dept. (Bethel CIA) actually is running most things like this, don't expect them to change reporting and the numbers game to any great degree. That would be giving up too much control.
An experiment is underway right now to test reporting (by congregations, not individuals) of field service time via the internet. To what extent this will evolve we haven't heard yet.

While we've been blessed with more than some and not as much as others, I think we've always tried to help others not so gifted when the need arose. Many times those we've helped never knew where the help came from. That's just the way we work. We've always viewed the proper use of wealth to be a responsibility not to be taken lightly.

WTS Emergency Meeting
by doinmypart inthe disaster relief committee at patterson organized 3 meetings this past memorial day, monday september 5, 2005. the meetings were held in lake charles, louisiana; bossier city, louisiana; and ball, louisiana.
over 1,200 elders were in attendance from louisiana, missouri, arkansas, and texas.
i took horrible notes, but want to share a few things.. the elder opening the meeting emphasized the importance of confidentiality.

Perhaps someone who has contacts with the Red Cross executive staff could confirm that the dubs were actually refused access. If this is not the case, then the Red Cross would have cause to sue the WT for slandering their name. I'd like to see them do it. Though I admit a private home is better than any shelter.
Kenneson: Dubs in Florida were read letters after the hurricanes last year informing them that Kingdumb Halls were NOT to be used as shelters. Inessence don't run here if yu get in trouble. The tenor of the letter was that the Halls are not insured for such things and poorly equipped to handle relief. (Makes me angry every time I relate this.)

Suggestions for donations to Hurricane relief efforts
by SadElder inwe sure that your hearts, like ours, are touched by the disaster of katrina and the impact for time to come on those directly affected.
not only have these folks lost homes but many will have lost jobs as well.
there will surely by pleas for monitary help from those intent only on lining their pockets.. any experience with those who should and shouldn't be sent donations?

Thanks to all for your ideas.

Hurr. Katrina and the WTS' slacking hand
by doinmypart ini work in a business that is dealing with the aftermath of hurricane katrina.
in perusing a list of shelters in the affected areas i see civic centers, schools, several churches, but no kingdom halls (gasp!).
imagine that!.

You will not see Kingdumb Halls on lists of shelters. Friends in Florida last year were read a letter from the borg instructing them not to come to Kingdom Halls in case of a weather emergency such as hurricanes. Something about insurance issues. What a crock.
So the Kingdom Hall is supposed to be the center of true worship, but only in fair weather. Makes me boil just repeating it.
