  ok, i've been having a problem with john 1:1. how many gods are there?

  the most famous distortion in the nwt is john 1:1. the nwt inserts the word "a" in front of the second god in this verse.

  Dear real truth, it might help if you expand a little. Why do you ask the question? Of course there are more than one god... If the hebrew God Jehovah is a "jealous" god, then it stands to reason that he is not alone, right?

  According to christian belief, the nazarene or christ, is a liason to god. I dont think it is a matter of true or false god, where this christ is concerned. Christians do not pray TO the christ... but THROUGH it.

  But I think you will not find a simple answer to that question (depending on how you are asking it)

  Thank you very much for posting this picture, as I was on my way to Myrtle Beach this coming weekend for a little recovery time...I think now I will find a nice quiet place on the beach, pop up an umbrella, and WATCH the others go in the water.

  their thinking is that some of them are not upbuilding, crude, pornographic, filthy etc.

  the implication is of course that since some of it is "bad", stay away from all of it.

  Gordy, I cant find it where I originally posted it... but yes... We were given strict warnings back in the late 70's I think?? They would tell stories of little toy blue people trying to strangle infants. The whole thing was based on the idea that smurfs were "imps" or magikal creatures. Promptly after that talk, all of our collections of "fast food" toy smurfs were confiscated.

  Needless to say it devastated me. .... blue people... who'd have thunk it?

An interesting little cycle one could fall into if one went from "christian" to JW to outcast

  anyone else here care to admit they would rather let others do the difficult research for them?

  once in the psycho hospital, we played a "game".

  (keep in mind that games in such settings were either only a means to keep us from killing ourselves or the other inmates between smoke breaks, or to assist us in gaining insight into our natures (this was never the case except in the following instance.).

  I had posted this elsewhere, but this exact subject was what made me download the thing to begin with. I have a hard time sitting at the computer and reading long posts... this program is one of those text-to-speech engines.. pretty simple to use, and doesnt take up a lot of room. You just copy/paste anything into it and it reads it to you. And it's free.

  It helps when I am distracted, or working on something and I just want to listen... You have to kinda play with the speeds and voices to make it sound more realistic; but once you get it set and get used to it... pretty cool. Been using the old version for a couple years.

  how many of us went in field service and placed literature without even opening the covers ?, let alone reading the articles.. how about following up on a return visit for a magazine you never read ?.

  i have to admit, i did it many many times.. maybe we should of went into the used car business.

  willingly deceived and hiding behind a phalanx of lawyers.. yet, there is one growing situation that must frighten them.

  I agree with you Metatron, and you have stated this quite well. Bravo!

  My father (the elder) seems to have taken the "limping victim" approach..."oh they are all out to get us"..."whoa is me, they are lying about us all over the internet"....

  But he has yet to answer any of my questions**, with an outright statement. I get the sense that they are grasping... for the right words?

  ** ps. If anyone has the right question for me to ask my father, to make him either take a stand or bow out.. let me know. I ask him to answer to some of the "charges" and accusations and the above is all I get.
