  Our Friend Linda

  julie and i have both known linda for over 25 years, from when she first became a jw, so we decided to write this tribute to her.. we first met linda in january 1981, when she attended her first ever meeting at our kingdom hall.

  she had been taking the magazines for a few months, since just after she finished university, and had started studying a few weeks before, but this was the first time she had plucked up the courage to attend a meeting.

  julie was having many doubts herself by then, and once again linda was supportive, as was trev.

  you know my brother in law and myself teamed up on my wife and finally talked her into going to hooters just to shut us both up.................. this was in ORLANDO...............

  now i live in georgia................. MAJOR DIFFERENCE..............

  first off........ theres a hooters on every cornor.............

  second off they refer to each shift there as........... a complete set of teeth

  orlando had hot models made by mattel.................. georgia has....... well...............

  lets just say my MOM is hotter.................. and shes 57 and dosent work out

  what were your excuses for not going to the meetings?.

  ours were the usual ones, boredom, illness or weather, yepp even the tiny snow flurries were a good excuse to stay home.

  no i'm not keeping him.i named him trouble.i'm just going to take care of him till i can get him a good home.. .

  many here are afraid to come out into the open with their identity because they still have friends and family in.

  however, it is noticeable that there are many newbies here and more and more exposes on watchtower.

  do you, therefore, feel less intimidated or afraid now?.

  what is it about flies?

  i built a wildlife garden that is now thriving and you'd think the flies would be grateful - but what do they do, they keep biting my bald head that's what!

  i mean, after my recent illness you'd think they'd take pity on me but no, they insist on biting my pate.

  my dad used to swear if you eat alot of 0nions and garlic it would change your blood chemestry and keep the mosquitos and biteing bugs away from you............. along with the biteing ladies....... bad trade off

  Have you ever refused a "Privilege"

  i refused to give a bible study to some kid.

  i figured that many tried and didn't succeed.. i also didn't feel ready for that, nor did i want to drag him to each meeting after that, since he had no family in the org.

  the elders weren't happy with my decision.. bottom line, you can't say no, without any consequences..
