Elders want to visit after memorial !!

well, i attended the memorial last night, and since i have been inactive for some time two of the elders came up to me afterwards.

they want to get together and discuss how to get me active again.

since i am going thru some withdrawal pains, i spinelessly agreed to talk with them this friday evening.

ok first some questions.......... do they have your phone number? do they know where you live? probably yes if you have been regular for a prolonged time before you became inactive.

if they do then you got nothing to keep secret...... meaning they already know so you cant keep them away by not telling them where you live or how to contact you.

if not then you definately dont want to meet them at your house, and give them an email to contact you....... or if you have a dedicated work line with your own personal mailbox give them THAT number which will only be accessed during work hours lol. (if they know where you work tho that could lead to other more embarassing or awkward moments when they show up, and they probably will....... my dad used to do that to his RVs)

i personally wouldnt meet with them........ i would just make sure i left at least half an hour before the time they were supposed to show up and not be back for 3 or 4 hours if possible.......... can you say double feature at the theater? i tried to avoid a sheparding call at my parents house for two hours by driveing around........... they were still there and i had to listen to them for like half an hour(wasnt a call for me just at my house) before they finally left....... had i realized what was going on i would have just stayed in town and found something to do.

i wouldnt bother to cancel either...... you didnt want the meeting, you didnt ask for it, yet they pressured you into it......... and you know its only gonna get worse. after the fact if they do bother to try and contact you..........(could just be talking with you cause they are FORCED to do so and any effort can be made to sound like they have slaved for you to the CO) i would just say that your extremely busy and something came up and that you will let them know when an opening comes up in your schedule (or just say F*** off).

now you gotta know yourself first......... you say you gave in out of weakness.......... so ask yourself the hard questions. the ones only you can answer, regarding how weak you feel you will be with them again, will they force you with their brainwashing words make you attend again? try to figure out how you can get out of it all with the least amount of contact with them. back in the day i knew that i wouldnt be able to stand up to them so i simply avoided them. now i can tell them off to their faces, but they arent worth it to me. they use guild and pressure to FORCE you to be there biatch, dont let them....... if it means your off the reservation, then go MIA. if it means you tell them your to busy to bother with them....... be prepared to either hang up after you tell them...... or to listen to their hours of...... you know jehovah wouldnt like that......... are you giveing up on him........ you dont have time for jehovah.............. bulls*** bulls*** bulls***..............

as i told you before, they boe have been considering me for the eldership.

which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

Being an elder is a position of trust and it would be dishonest to take this position.

nah i gotta disagree here with this statement. In a religion that truely tries to follow jesus example and biblical teacheings......... yes being appointed as a deacon, elder, or whatever other position IS a position of trust and it would be dishonest to accept it.

We all know that the watchtower bible and tract society is NOT anything even remotely close to that. Its made up of self serveing men, glory seeking men. are there a few good men in it..... yeah there are but they are few and far between. The entire "religion"(cult) is based upon bible truths that cannot be denied... and blatant LIES.

I refused to be appointed, i saw corruption and decided that if god wanted me to become an elder he would move me to accept, (very stones would cry out ..... etc). Then later when i knew without a doubt that it was one hundred percent bulls*** i left immediately. I chose to get out of her lest i share in her sins...... and there are a hell of alot of them to be party to.

My immediate family is IN and i pray for them every day, to see through it and come to their senses. If i thought that i could prove that there was no HS in the appointment of elders........ i cant say i wouldnt accept that JUST to prove it to them. I thought about remaining and fakeing hours and all that......... but i have never faked hours i didnt spend, to have my family based on lies just isnt worth it to me.

It is a fact that they do ask that question...... is there anything that would prevent you from serveing.... they asked me.......... i said experience........ and ran like hell. This is just another of their CYA statements. Thats what the cult is based on........... CYA so they cant be sued....... and then brainwashing so they wont be questioned.

I wont say yes become an elder..... or no dont become one....... thats his personal choice. I couldnt deal with the daily bull and i dang sure wouldnt mistreat people who needed help by following the cults (mens) rules.

I will wish you good luck in your endeavors tho, hope you help the most people possible and i couldnt say which way will help them more.

OMG!! I just thought of something...A future scenario...The wtbts requests that ALL contributions, on the local level, be made out to the wtbts. The wtbts then doles out on an individual needs basis the money's required by the local cong for their operating expenses. No more need for the BOE to have ANY hands on that money that comes through the contribution boxes.
Total and ABSOLUTE control of all $$$ that are made to available to THE MINISTRY

Whats the next step? ill tell you, the congregations that dont make enough contributions to clear their bills will then be disbanded, their halls sold and the congregations consolidated untill they turn a profit.

When a cong buys or builds a hall who owns it? we know the answer to that, the society owns it but the local brothers pays for it. at any time they can disolve that cong and sell off its assets. they claim the money will go where the need is greater...... thats just a smoke screen to remove the possiblility of asking where it goes.

you imagine that your contributions are helping those in need somewhere in the world.... fact is they rarely make it out of new york.

its a shame but hopefully blatant stuff like this will open the eyes of more witnesses and cause them to get the hell outta dodge.

Your funny stories of being a JW

i was just thinking that maybe to lighten it up a bit and we could talk about our funny stories about being in the jw religion.

i thought it would be fun to read.. some of my favorities:.

running a block and a half from dogs when i was about 8.. letting all my note cards when i was giving a talk fall to the floor.. tripping over the stairs as i participated in a demonstration.. laughing out loud in a talk and not being able to stop until i went to the bathroom.. having a fit of coughing that disrupted the entire meeting.

Hmm, how about the single middle aged "sister" that was handicapped and was lonely and horny........and would sneak and pinch the younger guys in the butt, and give them a big juicy kiss on the lips when she could get away with it.

i can kinda combine the two.............. i was running those microphones.... standing at the back of the hall...... and a MARRIED sister came walking up behind me, headed back toward her seat........ she smacked me on the arse and said......... wow have you been working out......... i was so shocked i didnt know how to react lol so i just played it off as if i got that all the time. found out later that she got dfed for being an internet ho in a cult that dosent allow that sort of thing. so in hind sight think she was trolling lol.

Can I (a Christian) go out with a jw?

i really like this girl i work with.

she's a few years older than me, but we get along great.

gotta side with the masses on this one............. most young women want that big fancy wedding....... the first and so called only(hopefully) you will not be able to provide that for her. JWs are so damn judgemental that all her friends wont attend........ you will have to pretty much elope or do a vegas wedding. if her familys in .......... forget about it....... they wont show up. to them you are food for birds(birds will eat your corpse at armaggedon........ nice huh)

I will make a suggestion tho.......... and hope and pray that you will take it to heart. read up and do extensive research into the beliefs and practices of jws.......... especially in places like this where you will find out the truth from every aspect. there are people here that were kicked out...... and you can say that they have an axe to grind........... sure....... but there are also people who left because of their so called bible trained conscience........ who did everything they were supposed to do but when their eyes were opened......... they couldnt be a part of such a evil mind controlling organization.

now i know someone...... they are in "good standing" in the religion and they were married to a total tool....... complete bastard for decades. all the dubs thought he was a saint because he could give those talks that transformed him into an angel of light, just like someone else i know. now this fool was adored......... revered ect in the district and beyond. so he passes more than a year ago, now his widow wants to remarry... meets a wonderful brother whos warm and just a great all around guy. same kinda situation...... lost his wife a year ago or so........... they connect. his elders have him on public reproof for a minor sin that jehovah forgave him for over a year ago.............. but the MEN this cult appointed to take care of the flock will not give him back his privledges.......... no matter what he does. These MEN loved her ex and dont think hes worthy of her so they are fightihng tooth and nail to keep them from marrying. they threatened him with him never getting his privledges back unless he breaks up with her................. where would that be in the bible?

they are fighting against the elders....... but i dont know how long that will last. in the end the elders almost always win........... so i have another question for you.............. if they treat their own like this............. would you ever want to join up? its a LOSE LOSE situation and always will be.

a so called good witness will never give you the time of day, if shes not......... but she still belives then you will never know if she will go back to it later. so her wild oats and then try to buy her way back into paradise with a few good years of service. worst is if you were to have kids............... and to have your child raised in a CULT............ no thank you.

2008-Watchtower is so cheap! - books cheaper covers, smaller Calander??$$

i've noticed since the watchtowers tax problems,and publications now being offered without a price for "donations" the quality has gone down to save money $$$$ first the new calander is half the size of the original a4 size....it's hard to write your witnessing hours!

remember the hard cover books that last forever...now paperback!!

monthly awakes and study article only watchtowers for witnesses, saves alot of paper and printing.

Personally i havent seen alot of that since ive been out for a number of years but i have to say........ they KNOW they are being caught up by their bullcrap. They tried to shut quotes down....... and had some success......... cause he was telling the truth about what they actually said. They want their literature to biodegrade quickly so it cant be used against them in a court of law. They also want the brothers and sisters to get a new copy of whatever they are studying......... why........ cause half the reason for studying..... is to keep you to busy to notice your brainwashed. so if you have studied the revalation book 27 times....... and have it underlined and all the scriptures looked up and quoted........... then thats an hour or so you WONT be studying this week.......... and thats an hour you can use to realize its all bullcrap.

so get a new study book............ throw out the old one with its old light....... waste that same hour over and over by prepareing anew........... keep your head in the sand.......... keep wasteing time trying to indoctrinate others and please continue with your donations.................... yeah

Went to a JW "funeral" on Saturday

my brother called me late on the 13th to let me know that a friend of ours - who is no longer a jw - called him and said that his dad was being flown by helicopter to the hospital because he collapsed at home and had no pulse.

they took my friend's dad off life support on valentine's day and he died.

well, i was debating whether or not to go to the funeral because i have no desire to hang around a bunch of jws or set foot in a kindumb hall again.

went to my wifes uncles service..... it was held in an ASSEMBLY HALL............ same old song and dance....... jw bullcrap and how he was such a saint....... the man abused his wife every day but the entire district thought he walked on water.

point of it was we wouldnt have dirtied the soles of our shoes in that place...... except it was for the living. her aunt and their daughter, thats it the rest could go drowned in their syrupy lies.

one good thing...... i got to look down at my wifes ex bf and dismiss him like he was a fly........... lol and i didnt even know who the fool was lol. little scrub came up to me and asked me to move cause they were keeping the area clear for family.......... HA. he didnt even have the stones to try and insist or reason...... he got dismissed and ran away with his tail between his legs.......... that alone made up for that funeral......... especially when i found out who he was lol. wife always told me he was spineless........... i cant disagree.

my dad pissed off my entire family when he was makeing my grandfathers arraingments............. my grandfather hated jws............ dad went through the motions of getting some family pastor..... but when that fell through he called in a brother.............. the brother gave the talk and used the king james.......... but it was still a jw talk and worthless. i just recently found out just how pissed they were now they know that he is shunning me.

bottom line is you went to comfort your friend........... you did that........ good job.

Hardcore evangelical intellectual just fell for an enlightened JW girl

i'm new here, but am mightily impressed with the insights, care and compassion exhibited here.

i like to briefly share my story and receive some insights and "good counsel" from you good folks.

here goes- i'm a 49 year old lawyer, whose been divorced for 8 years.

ok so you like the gal......... she isnt hard core or she wouldnt even be talking to you beyond witnessing to you or business dealings....... ok.

first things first.... you of course are not looking to score...... your looking for someone to be with long term(forever?) so that changes your approach... and that is, in my personal experience and opinion the ONLY way this will EVER POSSIBLY work out.

im gonna get a tad negative...... imageine the worst..... you marry her and there happens to be a child or children soon involved. she is gonna insist if she belives its the "truth" that her children are raised jw or they will die at armageddon. at this point your screwed, so moving to positive things.......... how to keep that from happening.

you are gonna hafta be one thousand percent sure of her before you move to the part of a relationship that would even consider children....... honestly it would be a true nightmare to have children in that cult. can i get an AMEN.

so you will need to try and show her the evil underbelly of this cult ahead of time but of course this is NOT an easy task. is your church a top notch church? do you guys do serious minestry to anyone in the area and hopefully internationally? cause dubs claim to have the lock down on all international things. they dont acknowledge the body of christs work world wide and claim to be the only world wide organization.

if your church is up to snuff and you can show her the minestrys and good that comes from it...... try to get her to attend with you...... might be a while before you can get her to the point of attending cause they belive that all other churches dont have anything from jehovah...... she tho being more open minded might actually be open to the experience and that will go along way. seeing brothers and sisters struggleing with there problems and asking the church to pray for them instead of being sumarily disfellowshiped and kicked out with the dogs.

get her online......... the jws teach its the devils tool and evil because it opens so many eyes to what they are really about. read crisis of conscience and see if you can get her to.

brother i am gonna say that it will take you along time to confirm all of this.......... but you have got to be sure that she does not belive its the truth any more or its a hopeless situation. she can promise you the moon right now but bring in children and family pressure and somehow she can revert to her old ways in a heart beat.

so look at her like that......... dont fall head over heels cause you got long term issues to work out first..... but hey i say go for it..... if you can show her your church and win her over and prove that the jws are not the only true religion....... or even a religion at all, then you could have a good thing. just dont jump the gun or rush things.

i always remember you would get one IDIOT after another. some were smart enough to learn from their mistakes (pity they couldnt see throught the brainwashing) and others were simply oblivious. I remember this one jacka$$ in particular,,,,,,,, he rolls in all holyier than tho and started spouting off his malarky about how if you go in service YOU DONT START YOUR TIME UNTILL YOU KNOCK ON THAT FIRST DOOR........ and if you drive for five minutes to the next house you stop your time for that drive........... he was summarily ignored except for the week he was there, and then you took no breaks or short ones...... but you still counted your time any damn way you wanted. the next co............ opposite...... said your giving a witness every time you walk into the break place and with him you didnt even have to stop your time. you had some that only had time for those rich folk who were greaseing their palms with gifts and the like.... and others that tried to work their butts off(usually young and new). even had one co that said since our cong couldnt possibly work all its territory in a year that we should make sure that the town territories were covered annually and if the rurals couldnt be they could get people to come there and help like they did with unassigned territory........... yeah right.
