I'm an Aries, pleased to meet you!
by Pleasuredome ini was just wondering if our posts on jwd show our star sign characteristics?
i dont know much about star signs but there are people on here who do.
i'm sure sirona knows, as she's into witchcraft (my wts training comes in handy to pigeon-hole people lol).

How do you cheer yourself up?
by Sirona inif your jw family upset you, or if you're having "one of those days" (or weeks, or months .
is there anything that you actively do to counter the negative feelings?.
i usually try to go into "look after myself" mode and spend some time alone just relaxing or having a good cry .

I tell call my babies over and say give mama a big giant hug. And we hug and hug and hug, great thing about their ages, they are still at the age where they love it. Im like you too, love the long hot soaks in the bath tub. I also have this thing I do, its a conditioning treatment for the hair, but they give me a 20 minute head massage, nothing relaxes me more.

Red Bull And Getting On With It . . .

my experience is that you are all the most excellent folks i have ever cyber-met.
i have learned so much from being a member of this forum, from all of you, and i wish you a lot of success and happiness.

Could someone search the internet and trace your name back to this site?
by Netty inhow would that work?
i know that if they typed in jehovahs witness or whatever, and this site came up then they could surf the site and may happen to stumble on your posts and find you.
but what i dont know is, say your name is jane doe, they type jane doe in google, or whatever they use to search, and jane doe comes up with posts you have made to this site.

Well yes tis a little bit alarmig, I think slightly. But I think for the most part, nobody would be interested in googling me, I mean of the family. And if an apostate website came up, well theyre not supposed to look

One other important perspective, you never really know or realize how much a da/df and the subsequent shunning will really effect you, until you have children. You also never know how much you really need your parents, until you have children. The children shed a whole different light on this subject. I am so glad for the sake of my kids, that I did it the way I did, otherwise, they would not have grandparents in their life.

You dont have to be sorry, there are two sides to this issue that is for sure. I am also curious did you have any control over your being da'd or df'd, did you really make an informed decision? With eyes wide open weighing future consequences of each course of action and decide to opt for the "lose your family" option?
i haven't spoken to either of my parents in almost 2 years. i wasn't informed about my brother's wedding until 2 weeks before the date (i wasn't invited). i can go on...
Is this really only a temporary discomfort? Seems like this is something that would scar a person permanently. Thats why, for me, this is way to devestating a thing to knowlingly volunteer for. I have so much sympathy for those who were df'd or da'd beyond their control, because they had no choice in the matter and ended up suffering the loss of their families.
then how real is their love anyway?
I'll be honest, it is a conditional love, and that is a difficult thing to swallow. But again, I still have them in my life at least to some degree.
i would've had to convince them that i was something that i am not.
That has not been the case with me, they know exactly what I am, I wont go to meetings or have anything to do with the truth, They know I celebrate all holidays with my children and do non witness stuff. I am my own person and they know that. Have I gotten into full details, like being on this message board, etc, no way. But I also dont discuss my sex life with them either. There are some things that are just better left unsaid. I was trying to convince them that I was something I was not, when I chose to try and pretend to be a part of their religion and belief system. I felt like a hypocrite then and thats why I left.
I respect your point of view Doogie. I am sure neither one of us fully knew what we would have to suffer through when we left the jw's (each choosing the route that was best for us).
