No compassion during Bible Study

i was remembering today about a bible study an elder's wife took me on once (actually, her elder husband was the congregation overseer).

after the chapter was over for that day (i think the knowledge book), the elder's wife asked when we could arrange the next study.

the frail single mother of three evaded the question, and the elder's wife persisted.

i knew he was the once since i was 9 years old.

I stayed at home to make sure my brothers had a normal life. I took care of them as if they were my own. I always will. They know at anytime they can call me up and I would drop everything to help them no questions asked. I have done everything I could to help them become young men

You are awesome! They are so lucky to have you! I am sure you have made an incredible difference in their lives. Hearing stuff like this is heartwarming. I like it!

my mom tells me of a conversation with my mother-in-law she had at a family party a couple of weeks ago.. now, to set this up, let me give you a few details.

my wife's brother lives in another state.

he quit the witnesses pretty much right after moving out there, and this has been almost 20 years ago.

How do I control my jealousy?!! Help!

the first time i can vividly recall feeling jealous was when i was 7.. my dad came home from visiting a client with gifts for me and my sisters.

my younger sisters got a beaufiful handmade doll dressed in pink lace called betty and a handmade cotton cot.

i got the 1982 yearbook of jws.

I might just have a little different persective here, and first of all please know that I am not the jealous type at all. My hubby is a cop, (and a handsome one at that) and you know how women flip out for not only men in uniform, but the whole authority thing. I see women check him out, in public, restaraunts etc, right in front of me, or they act silly, try to get his attention, strike up conversations. I actually am proud of him, and am not worried about it at all, because he never gives me any reason to. I wanted you to know that first, so you would understand where I am coming from and know that I would never try to fuel your jealousy, because I realize how destructive a thing it can be. What I am wondering here is, are you actually on to something? Who is this:

preferring the other woman

what is relationship with her? Where does he know her from? And is she the same women as:

And he said clothes for his 9 year old daughter - who from I asked? And he said this woman at work

If so, just wondering why he has this type of relationship with her?

and when you say:

When I read this my red flags went up.

So what I am trying to say is, maybe you are not irrational, and maybe there is something a litle more to this? The jealousy could be your intution trying to give you a nudge.

Wow (((((Brook))))) I was really touched by alot of your story, but especially the part where you did so much to protect your younger siblings from seeing things that would effect them negativly. How wonderful! What a loving person, and sister you are. Sad how the JW culture can make people feel like they aren't good enough. I hope you have come to learn now that you ARE good enough! Good for you for having the strenght and courage to come to the point you are at now in your life. And meeting your friend on line here at this website... Awesome! Here's to you Brooke

makes me feel good.. how about you, do you ever help out people out of pure agape love?.

giving time or money, without expecting anything back in return?

I truly am by nature. But I found that I got totally used and taken advantage of, so I have transformed myself a little. I always think twice now. Sorry this sounds cynical, but it is true.

JW Sister On My Nerves

i need to vent.

i have a sister who is not only still a jw, but she is nuttier than a fruitcake.

she calls me at work and at home (long distance) to give me a play-by-play of some real estate we are trying to sell--it's in escrow but tied up in legal bs.

I know exactly what you mean. I have someone in my life who does this to me.

Is there a way you could avoid her calls. I dont have caller ID, but I do have voice mail, and when I need some peace and quiet, I turn the ringer off. If its that important, they will leave a message, but even then, I can choose if and when I feel like calling them back.
