My father told me once that a man is supposed to die with the people who he loves. So i would want to die with them.

Cult books for JWS
by In_between_days ini recently purchased "combatting cult mind control" the book by steve hassen and found it very enlightening.
upon the conclusion of that book i did realise once and for all that i was indeed a victim of mind control and that the organisation of jehovahs witnesses certainly qualifies as a "destructive cult" the book was of special interest to me, beacuse it was not written by an ex jw , but by an ex moonie, thus the information is not biased, being particularly written for ex jws.
the similarities of the dubs and the moonies are quite eerie, although there are some differences.

If your family does read it they will definitly excuse their religion with what the book is talking about. I think in the Jw mind, it is impossible for them to associate any wrongness or convealed acts with their organization. They believe their religion can do no wrong at all even if the mind control book clearly states something that the jw Organization does. It would almost be like they are blind.

do religious believers have too many privileges
by WildeLover ini am sure that jws will use this as an impending sign that the beast will turn on babylon and ban all religions.
it will feed thier persecution complex quite a lot!.

Your favourite WTS publication?
by LoveUniHateExams ini realise that starting this thread may make me as popular as a ginger stepchild but was there any wts publication that you liked, or at least comfortably tolerated?.
my memory may be deceiving me but i think the greatest man book was pretty good, leaving out the gruesome detail of the crucifixtion and wts doctrine.. also, can anyone tell me the list of books that ray franz authored/co-authored?.
thanks.

Really liked the creation book and isaiah's Prophecy, the second one. Now that i know everything i know, it is kind of hard to really like anything they print. I mean, i could realize that whatever book is clever at their true motivation but of course not admire it like I once did. But I'm sure that is the case with almost everyone here.

Ever notice how JW's can attend a talk or Convention and remember nothing?
by Wasanelder Once inhow many times have you asked a jw who has attended a public talk how the talk was, only to be told it was so great!
yet they cannot remember the title nor any one single point except that the brother was "funny" or was good with illustratiions or some other vauge point?
and conventions weren't far off either.

"So by that line of reasoning then, all of those supposedly "momentous" gatherings in the early part of the century that witnesses go on about continuously were in reality not that important after all!?!?"
In reality no meetings whatsoever for jws are important unless they are about money (which in the GBs mind is the rule of all godness from jehova)
