generation shift - 1995 or 1984?
by sonofapreacherman ini first came to know about the 1995 shift in the definition of a generation from this website, having not stepped foot into a kh, bar the odd funeral, since the early 90s.
i recently had the opportunity to question my mother and aunt about the change in doctrine.
in an apparently innocent way, i asked about the post great war generation dying out and what that meant for the prophecy.

April 15th Watchtower and Hebrews chapter five
by JeffT inhebrews 5: 11-13
11we have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn.
12in fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of god's word all over again.

Do you use this site as a Pissing Post?
by scumrat inlets face it, there are many posts and replies about nonsensical bullshit that has nothing to do with the jw's.
what purpose does it serve?
do you do it to irritate other board members or just to get a reaction?

Daddy, why did we have to attack Iraq?
by Larry indaddy, why did we have to attack iraq?.
questions and answers about foreign policy (and the u.s. invasion of iraq).
anyway, saddam hussein came to power through a military coup, so he's not really a legitimate leader anyway.

Jefferson on Religion and Uniformity
by Farkel inthomas jefferson's chapter on religion in his "notes on the state of virginia" present us with a rich treasure of wisdom and a keen insight into human nature.
he discusses the history of religion in virginia and mentions that there were still oppressive laws on the books concerning religious conduct even after the convention of may 1776. the anglican clergy received their salaries from the government.
rejecting the aglican church was considered heresy and was punishable by death.

At the Memorial......
by New Castles ini did make it to the memorial with my wife this past sunday.
at first everything was going the same as always...the talk, the passing of the crackers and wine, but then towards the end the brother giving the speech did something i had never seen.
he was talking about how we could never pay a price for what christ has given for us...he then pulled a big wad of cash with what was clearly either a 20 or 50 on the front and flashed it to everyone in the audience.

The 1975 Prophecy revisited
by somebodylovesme ini am doing a project on the rhetoric surrounding the 1975 armageddon prophecy.
i've read all the research and quotes online... now i am interested in any personal testimonies.
i have heard a few stories, such as witnesses accruing massive credit card debt in '74 and early '75 and quitting their jobs.
