Resolution passing with zoom

hi folks.. i put this in practices as i thought that appropriate.

perhaps it should be in scandalous behavior.

not a big deal but an example of the cult-ish intimidation and behavior.. at the end of this mornings short wt review prior to the convention brainwash by jackson, ( melbourne australia) the elder stated "brothers we have a resolution to present to the congregation".

At the end of this mornings short wt review prior to the convention brainwash by Jackson, ( Melbourne Australia) the elder stated "brothers we have a resolution to present to the congregation". He continued, " The ......... congregation of jws has resolved to send $750 to the worldwide work every month". Here's the 'clanger' ...... he went on, "we know it's difficult to pass resolutions with zoom so, if you don't agree please raise your hand and the elders will help you understand the reasoning behind this." A pause,,,,, "as no one has raised their hand we thank you all for your co-operation in this matter."

I received a couple of phone calls from pimo and pimi folk I know saying 'WTF,,, in jw terms'. And asking,,"whom in their right mind would dare to raise their hand?" Ha Ha, Interesting times in my view.

Cong of around 130 active publishers. about six bucks Au per head,,,,,,, That's not a tithe !?

during tonight's meeting the brother seemed to read out something along the lines of "you may be helping a poor sister who you think may be struggling, but in turn that sister may be getting financial assistance from the government.

it is always best to stick to jehovah's arrangement in these matters so that help can get to those who most need it, including the worldwide work".

i think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned.

Yes. As Drearyweather stated, the use of apps for soliciting funds etc was in the outline. Also, the responsibility of starting something and being held to account was in the outline. (A PIMO friend related to an elder confirmed that to me.)

However, as we know, individual elders always throw in their interpretation of a subject.

The one I heard waffled on about what a wonderful provision the service group apps are and how wonderful it now is to be able to donate directly to jwog seeing the publishers can't physically do it at the kh. And please see your group overseer to help you do that.

There was also some gibberish about inadvertently sharing the wonderful spiritual food with apostates.

P.S. I agree with other comments regarding the popes' efforts to stem the information flow of their history of failures..... Even though the failures are becoming as obvious as dogs balls.

I will listen for it this Thursday here in Oz. Yes it's primarily about the use of social platforms.

Sounds like an extension of the letter to elders directing minions to exhaust every other option for help elsewhere (like government,relatives,other publishers ) before telling the co that someone needs help from the organisation.

Welcome to the forum. You will find heaps of stuff here in the search area as smiddy3 suggested.

Be warned mate, one of the first things they will tell her is that the internet is poisoned by apostates and not to read or believe anything they say. What they won't tell you is that their history does not prove god is with them.

As you will see on this site, many here have been studious to the enth degree and have proven for themselves that the jws don't have the 'truth' . It's simply their version of Christianity, one of 40,000 professed Christian denominations.

It seems to be a loose interpretation of the s147-20.08 regarding

"adjustment to resolved congregation donations" paragraphs 6 and 7.

6. Adjustment to Resolved Congregation Donations: The resolved monthly donation referred to in the announcement for congregations is based on a monthly per-publisher amount suggested by the branch office. The single monthly donation to the worldwide work will replace the resolved donations previously remitted in support of Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide, the Global Assistance Arrangement, and any branch-specific arrangements. Instructions for Congregation Accounting (S-27), related accounting forms, and the Funds Transfer page on jworg will be updated in due course.

7. The per publisher amount listed on the jworg web page containing the link to this announcement should be multiplied by the number of active publishers in the congregation to determine the suggested monthly donation for your congregation. It is understood that some congregations will not be able to donate the suggested amount while others will be able to donate more. Therefore, the body of elders should consider whether the suggest- ed amount would impose a hardship on the congregation or the congregation is in a posi- tion to donate the suggested amount or more. The monthly donation agreed upon by the body of elders should be presented in a resolution to the congregation for approval. Please note that the resolved donation should be sent on a monthly basis and not as a single amount for the service year.

due to starting the convention programme the wt study will be a 30 minute run through ,and deals with this prophecy ... i doubt the younger ones are familiar with it at all bur oldies could debate it at length .we on the look out for the king of the north to enter "the land of decoration" (more to follow,maybe next week).

I wondered how long that translation, 'and' was there for the Hebrew word for 'but'.

I actually looked up in a copy of the old green study bible (circa 1953-1960) that my parents had and sure enough its as you stated in your above post.

I checked yesterday out of curiosity and was going to post it today!!

So, obviously it becomes more evident that the need of the NWT was to support Freddy and Co's philosophies.

I shared the information you provided including the bible hub site info ,which by the way I frequent on a daily basis, with a pimi associate and left him perplexed. His observation ...."the whole meaning is reversed to what the wt implies."

Oh well,, small steps and who knows?
