Phizzy, I had a similar conversation with 2 ladies in my church yesterday. One of the ladies husband is a Lay Preacher, anyway, you get the picture.
They both said that wasn't Christian and certainly not what Jesus would do.
I have heard much more about Jesus in 2 months than I did in 14 years a jw.

i just heard this about a co i knew back in the day before he was even a co. he must be in his mid-late 40's now, my mother told me the story as she knows the family very well (the entire family has gone 'apostate' including several elders, circuit overseers and missionaries - this was an "example" family, always on the stage etc).. he wasn't 'feeling well' so he took time off from his co duties.
that week he packed his suitcase, told his wife he can't do it anymore and he's leaving, leaves her the car and the house and went to live in a small apartment, bought a small car and a week later got a decent job.. this was very recent so not everybody within the org has heard yet what happened..
For he's a Jolly Good Fellow and so say all of us.
He is an inspiration to faders everywhere.

we attended several different congregations in different states, and the one common thread among them all was...if you had your study article highlighted, you were a good jw.. honestly, how often did you cover over your magazine when the attendant walked by handing out copies to visitors?.

Today, I have overslept but I can zip along to church and enjoy the rest of the weekend. We had a skittles night last night and I had a few cinders, in front of the vicar as well!!!!

life is tough when you've spent your best years in the borg...how do you reconnect when kids are grown and you're close to retirement age?.
How about doing some voluntary work?
Charity shops, reading mentors, working in the local hospital coffee shop etc.... there are lots of opportunities in the UK and I guess it's the same in other developed countries.charities are short on money and need help.you could make a real difference.you would be so much more appreciated than you ever were in the Borg.

we've liked each other for a while (i was oblivious until about a month or two ago) and i'm also i bit worried she'll get tired of waiting.. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or something that they could give me.

i explained that i had da'd early december, due to many reasons, ie; paedophile cover-ups, doctrine, hypocrisy etc etc....... she said she would keep in touch and we'd meet up in february when we would be visiting her area.
i also asked for her df'd sister to get in touch.. guess what?
not a dicky bird.. i've seen on her facebook page that she she still has some very active witness mates, she obviously wants to stay friendly with.. i feel like i've been hurt all over again by this stupid ass cult that ruins good friendships totally.
