Blah...

i've been felling blah lately, it may be the weather (never ending winter).

but wathever, i've got a never ending headache and i'm into looking onto jw stuff again.

i have not posted here in a while because i did not need to, now i feel i need to again, mabe to be reassured that what i'm doing is ok, to get a little encouragement from my ex witness buddies on this site...i haven't been to a meeting since this summer and i really don't plan on going to the memoral but i think i feel guilty about it....

I feel your frustration with the weather.It was lovely 10 days ago in the UK.Now we have cold and wet again.

I haven't been to a meeting since the 8th September. I da'd in December. I don't need the memorial to remember Jesus.All mainstream churches do Communion regularly. You can partake.You don't need to be anointed!!! Jesus died for everyone not just who the jw's say.

It's a special time in all Christian churches now, with Lent.Go and check out your local church and test the water.

Tell us how you found it.

Betcha it's better than the kingdom hall.

Welcome and thanks for your story.

I recently joined a C of E church, I'm not confirmed or anything. I have been asked to read at a Communion Service and I take a blessing as well. All that in a couple of short months. We've just attended our 1st social event as well. Really felt welcomed but not overwhelmed, if you know what I mean.

Hey, just thinking as well. This Sunday the sermon was about the Workers in the Vineyard, who the landowner paid each one a Denarius for a days work. You get the hang of it.

God and Jesus want ALL to share, no matter how long they have "worked" in his vineyard. Shame you could'nt quote that when the Elder you mentioned blew you off.

Satan never killed anyone in the Bible.

I don't have much time for the God of the OT. I agree with Kate that much of the OT was written by men who had an "agenda", controlling the masses and women. Making their enemies and neighbours fearful as they had "Jehovah protection" , it's still taught in the KH's up to the present as well!!

I like Snare & Racket's post in another subject yesterday (I think), about how to read the Gospel accounts as a story, rather than indivudual verses as the Borg does. You get a good picture of Jesus' life and the good he did.

I am DF'd and a JW sister called me to tell me she wants to leave

one of my dear loved ones called me.

she knows i am df'd and she wanted to reach out to me.

she fell away for a few years, and when she came back i had a study with her before she became active again.

That's amazing that she has reached out to you. She obviously knows she can trust you.

Just keep it light. Let her open up to you. It was always so refreshing to talk to non-jw's when you we're "in". What's in the news, who's on the celebrity circuit etc....just easy chat. She'll really enjoy a break from all the kingdom hall politics..

here is the situation.... a young 19 year old in our congo had a fallout with his parents because of all the restrictions and jw dogma and moved out of the house last wednesday.. to make the story short, the parents went running to the elders and what was the comfort?.

coe said: i saw that coming!

your son never reached out to get baptized.. then the other elder said: don't worry, you still have one left that will be saved.

I would personally steer clear of the Old testament.boring, depressing and not relevant to me.
