Needless to say, you and the PO (and CO) didn't throw down together... Did you ever send the PO a mackerel, head and all in a UPS bag? I found it to be good therapy when I left. Also added a few chunks of stale bread.
how fanatic was your po i bet not as fanatic as mine.
one night there was a fire in a petrolium storage facility one block from the kingdom hall the police had baricades up and vacated the area around the hall.
the po called and told all us that jehovah would not let the place blow up while meeting was going on so meeting was still going to be held and he asked all of us brothers to call and inform the congregation that jehovah will protect us and to tell the congregation about an article of a hurricane that destroyed a town but jumped over the kingdom hall.

hmm?.
can you get df'd for it?.
can you just attend meetings with long hair?.
Knowing how discrete these moron elders are, they will use the "Special Talk" to target you, and then do the next one on the division of sheep and goats. Only to make you feel loved. Once again, don't feel singled out. Why waste your time sitting there, watch the grass grow, paint by numbers, make Syd Barrett sounds, play cricket - anything!

I would have loved to see the PO's face when you gave that talk, unless he was busy at the back of the hall (getting ready for the JC meetings after the WT).
were there any folks in your congregation that had really big voices, no pitch, and a tone-deaf ear?
we had a whole family of them.
i recall one night the wife was particularly off key--even going on past when the music stopped, getting off on the wrong line, etc.
Yeah, we had a former nun who thought she was at Vespas and would crow out the tunes, nasal and loud, ahead of the gang, and to the last note, then beyond, loudly! She would look around, and sneer at those not following her lead. The piano player was terrible, so it was one big wash.
Neon - great post! Loved Chapin's work.
take a peek at an excerpt from this book that is in the course of being written by simon worrall.
the fanatics who founded america.
fundamentalist zealots dreaming of a new world order, sexual repression, scary old blokes with beards.

Thanks for the post. Having attended Boston Latin School (established in 1635 as the 1st American public school) I was fed the history of the forefathers, unfortunately it was amazingly "white washed." One would have considered many of these pioneers "gifted" had it not been for further personal research. Yes, crazed in "Godly Manifest Destiny", autocratic, and truly vicious.
Nilfun - well put.
Gill - I too pray before meals. Imagine that, even in public. The Creator deserves praise, if only head bowed, in silence.
wow!
it's incredibly nightlike outside and it's raging.
very scary!.

Up here in York, and wow, what a storm! Just drove back from South River and pouring, but back here got a few bouts of hail and wild colors, rain coming down in sheets. The apple tree and the pear tree were swaying wildly. Now it's calm, but this looks like an off and on weekend.
12/24/72.
i was just remembering i had a part in an assembly part once.
i was a fresh new pioneer (who never, ever made my time, lol) just out of high school.
they gave me a brief part to say i was glad i didn't go to college and how i turned down a good job to pioneer.
I once conducted a Watchtower study at a Circuit Assembly, and then baptized "sheep" at another Circuit Assembly.
i wanted to know if anyone was from that area or lived there..
Hi Coffee!
Yeah Cambridge Latin assemblies. I can still see the kitchens, and the picnic tables in the hallways, the lines, and the ice cold baptismal pool in the winter. I gave a witness when I jumped out of there, and became a 1975 believer of Fred Franz and the delusional mind of WTS dogma (in 1972). Isn't that the school that Patrick Ewing went to when they went to the State finals? I just pictured the main hall, and the flowers on the stage. We really believed that stuff?!

I remember working on the Natick Assembly Hall! The M. brothers were all over the place and quite a to do. Damn, these threads bring back so much I blocked/erased years ago. I also remember the brothers in Cambridge, at Cambridge Latin where assemblies were held before Natick. Fridays, when we would bring in the kitchen equipment from various halls and set up for breakfast Saturday morning. The M. brothers were all over the place and quite a to do.
