by donald inguys and gals try this one on....i just found out that our local congertion...sold the old hall...with all its acrege...to the local catholic church to become a school.for preist.....i had thought the wtbs was to have no dealings with babylon the great....donald

by diamondblue1974 ini wasnt the most academic of children although i had some capability but i could read quite well by the time i was 4 years old at least for my age; i have always read as a child and still read now as an adult both professionally (research) and for pleasure.
i have always been able to write too...and pretty much advanced as well as my peers did in school...perhaps i am lucky, i certainly feel like i am when illiteracy amongst adults and children is rife at present...however.. i remember when i was 16 the wts in the uk were pushing through a scheme teaching those who were not as able to read and write...and an elder in the hall made a point of coming to me and suggesting that i should actually attend the training!!
!....i explained that i could read and write well enough and didnt need to be taught basic literacy... he said that i might learn something new and should respect jehovahs order of things and show appreciation...i did decline his kind offer rather abruptly....but wtf??

by catchthis inbeing a fan of the tv show the apprentice, i love to "play along" to see if my ideas would work with what the teams are tasked to accomplish.
many times, their ideas are totally off.
other times, the executives they are tasked with providing a presentation to feel that they had 'hit a home run.

WTS wealth/assets how to be shared?
by greendawn inimagine a situation were the jw org is burst assunder with all the rank and file members leaving and then entering into a legal dispute with the wts over the assets issue: they want to claim most of it because they are the ones that really made it with their unpaid work and conributions in money or property.
they want to have the wts and all its daughter corporations.
on the other hand the wts the shareholders, the directors, will claim that the assets legally belong to them, they can boast of a legally protected ownership over them, they are registered in their name and they should keep everything.

So how long has everyone been out?
by tyler m ini stopped all jw activity on june 12, 1996. my 18th birthday.
i made arrangements to stay with some friends and they even lined me up a summer job.
i snuck out in the middle of the night and left my parents a note.

(and this was all before i had any clues to how bad the whole thing was.
) i am just an outspoken person in general and my family (not dubs) are also outspoken.

By a C.O. to say "I don't know the answer to that question" - even if I did. By the Brooklyn Service Committee to "give the wrong answer sometimes, it reflects humility." By a P.O. after a public talk, "my, wasn't that bombastic today." And tact... well I thought if Jeremiah could say it, I would too, "householder, if you don't accept Jehovah's Divine Plan, expect to be hung on meat hooks at Armageddon." J.R. Brown and I preached together on a couple of occasions, talk about tact. That man is/was an animal.
