No compassion during Bible Study
by Grace ini was remembering today about a bible study an elder's wife took me on once (actually, her elder husband was the congregation overseer).
after the chapter was over for that day (i think the knowledge book), the elder's wife asked when we could arrange the next study.
the frail single mother of three evaded the question, and the elder's wife persisted.

Canadians will need a "Passport" to enter the US, starting next year
by JH ini read that late next year, canadians who will want to go to the us, will need a passport.. it was so easy to go to the us in the past.
now, when you cross the border, you need lots of id, and they even ask for you birth certificate.. but, late next year, canadians will need a passport to enter the us.. knowing this, i went to the post office to get a form to fill up, in order to get my canadian passport.
i was surprised to see all those questions on that form.

You are right - Europe wants to open up and North America is in shutdown. I have a feeling that current passports will be required to be updated with the new biometrics regardless of expiration. Happy days are here again!

The Story of Uncle Malcolm
by katiekitten inthis is a great story and its totally true.. peter kay says that when you are a kid you have loads of aunties and uncles, your uncle bob because he once borrowed your dads orbital sander and your aunty mary because your mum goes to weight watchers with her.
i thought it was a witnoid thing, or maybe a north of england thing, or even a 70's thing.. uncle malcolm was (is) an elder in my childhood congregation, a little wiry bloke in a flat cap and painters overalls.
lived in a council house opposite my nana's with the ample aunty jean, two large shiftless sons and lots of budgies.

Anointed disfellowshipping replacement reinstatement
by gringojj inan elders wife told my wife today that yes there are young anointed people because they are replacements for those who have fallen away.
she also said that if an anointed should fall away and then get reinstated they are still anointed.
i can just picture jesus spending 6 months or so picking out a suitable replacement in disgust at the one he picked first time around fell away.

Let me get this one correctly-
So.... if I get reinstated, some ofther SOB will not go up in the clouds. I partook 2 years with the dubs, and then I DA'ed, so if i understand correctly, some other brother/sister gets that gig; and then I come back a generation later... poor bastard. WTF religion!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 JWs Sent Registered Letters For "APOSTASY"
by minimus ini was told that 2 "anointed" witnesses that had recently (on the night of the memorial) picketed in front of the kingdom hall were sent registered letters inviting them to a judicial committee meeting.
the husband had told the elders when they first called last week that the elders should call off the meeting because his wife had once again had major tremors and had to be hospitalized due to being sent the letter.
and that the elders should realize that they would surely get legal action against them if anything happened to his wife.

You said it well! Unfortunately the Inquisition has begun and no stone will be left unturned. Maybe the brothers will increase the number of meetings to keep the flock busier and away from the web. But based on Randy's Bethel log, it doesn't seem to be working.
Anyone who hasn't seen Randy's Bethel log should - it is a REAL GEM, saw some of you on there from here. "Good associations" is what I've been finding.

HOW TO PROPERLY WASH A WINDOW (SERIOUS THREAD)
by Outaservice inwith spring/summer cleaning upon us, and many of you ex-jw's carrying on in your former business of cleaning, i offer the proper way to clean glass.. you will need only 4 items.
paper towel, window cleaner (windex etc.
), single edge razor blade, and 4 zero steel wool.. apply window cleaner, and wash with 4 zero steel wool which will not scratch the glass as it is very fine, but will cut any scum.
