Saturday a big group was working our street. They missed us out. My husband is ill, and they did not even knock to say hi how are you

A Saturday Knock on the Door & the JWN Forum
by kepler inthis is, of course, a recurrent topic that's made possible whenever a kingdom hall decides to march out on your neighborhood and street.. today it happened again in my neighborhood as a drum up for the memorial observance scheduled for monday the 14th of april.. why christ's passion and death should be observed on a monday of holy week i failed to ask this morning.
perhaps someone else might like to volunteer, but it seemed just another reason to be sceptical about the whole thing, though hardly ranking with changing ancient chronologies to get jerusalem's temple destruction 2520 years before 1914.. anyway two gentlemen in white shirts and ties greeted me politely enough at my door and presented me with a flyer about an event which they described as momentous.
they asked me if i had ever intended one and i assented.

So what are you up to?
by Xanthippe inanyone else bored with religion versus atheism or is it just me?.
i'm planning to go to greece in may.. i'm thinking about planting rocket and beetroot in my garden this year because they are getting rather expensive to buy.. this week i want to make chocolate refridgerator cakes.
some for my daughter who is coming home from uni this weekend and some to take in to work to give away with free tea and coffee because it's national libraries day on saturday.. i just finished reading the humans by matt haig which was brilliant.

Gum Chewing....Allowed in your hall or not?
by LostGeneration inso when i attended, this was never an issue - its been five years since i was booted.
a bit before i woke up, a couple visiting us (middle america) from the deep south basically told me this never, ever was allowed in their hall.
no 'priveleges' for a guy who chewed gum.

Would rather chew gum at kh in a non obvious way than chew on candy constantly through out the meeting, crunch crunch slurp slurp, mr elder in our cong. the man is so obese he can hardly walk.

Six years , new location , no love.
by smiddy ini had never thought about this that much until now.
my wife and i have been living in this community for over 6 years now , and nobody has ever called upon my wife or myself for that matter, to encourage us back to the meetings as jehovahs witnesses , who have become inactive /faded .. the same goes for my son and his wife , who live in the same area , have never been contacted with the intent of trying to re-activate them.. admittedly, only a couple of times in these past 6 years we both my son and i , have had witnesses call upon us in the normal d2d work , without acknowledging if ever they knew we were non practicising witnesses .
hard to beleive since my neice is in the local congregation , and is aware of our former congregations that we attended .. to cap it off , a few of our "freinds" who know where we are have never ever offered any encouragement or support in trying to get us back to their "truth ".

I found it really easy to make friends at school. I found it really easy on any courses I did in latter life.
But jws no one cares.

"Why Nobody Ever Came Looking For You when you faded!"
by RottenRiley inthey are afraid you are going to infect the good works done by the active jws.
are you aware that "one weak jw who is fading can take out five strong jws, so it's best to avoid or greatly limit your contact with weak jws?
" circuit overseer (past) words.. .

Its funny how gangs of jws walk by my home when out in field service. Or they all seem to stand in one big group talking right next to my door but do not knock to say hi how are you. One day I looked out my window to see them all looking at my home just starring. They looked miserable! I am not disfell. I do not get it.
All I ever wanted was kindness, but if you do not follow the org. you get ignored. True friends they are not.

Why Is Alcoholism Deeply Embeded In JW Culture?
by RottenRiley inwe get plenty of company men passing through our circuit, often filled with misinformation and lugging around a suitcase of guilt, they bring more guilt to the weak while praising the braggart pioneers and slapping the "righteous over much" elders.
why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?
i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.

When I go to the meetings two families ignore me, because I do not measure up to their standards in the truth! Its a small congregation, and everytime I go I feel anxious and sick. They are mean and nasty. I had a drink last night beause I feel the stress and could not sleep, and feel lucky that I have the excuse now not to have to go, woke up this morning with a cold!
Their attitude is rubbing off on others. Its so weird to walk in to a building and have people stare at you with such angry looking faces. What have I done? Miss a few meetings on/off for a year. And not go out on field service as much as they want, to be honest I do not go out but put a small report i
A drink now and then helps. ps I buy my own!

I love it this way. Although a can of corn beef is not so cheap these days!
Fry some onions.
Add a can of corn beef chopped into cubes. It does not matter if they fall apart in the cooking!
Add a can of chopped tomatoes OR a jar of tomato based sauce.
Add a squirt of ketchup. Simmer.
Salt and pepper. I use dolmao or supermarket brand jar of sauce, whatever is cheap, it seems better.
Serve with lots of mash potato and green beans. NOT USA style.

Lies on the JW.org FAQ section
by EndofMysteries init's riddled with lies.
here are a few, "are you an american sect?
all of our teachings are based on the bible, not on the writings of some religious leader in the united states.1 thessalonians 2:13.. we follow jesus christ, not any human leader.matthew 23:8-10.. .

If you are a baptised jw and are doing all jw.org tells you to do you will be saved and not die.
If you are a baptised jw and are diss. dissf. or no longer doing all the jw.org tell you to do then you are the walking dead. And you will die. Their rules.
I have drifted thats all, AND AM BEING SHUNNED, even though no official diss. dissf. They forget to say that elders wifes will judge you no matter what, and gossip about you to anyone who will listen, and influence their elder husbands.
