  The Watchtower Is Lying -- Yet Again! (Wt 9/15/03)

  in the sept. 15, '03 watchtower, an experience is offered concerning a man named.

  rolf-michael, who apparently traded drug addition for cultish addiction.. (perhaps some of you recall a cheech and chong sketch in which an odd man.

  announces that he "used to be messed up on drugs and he used to be messed up.

  No, the witnesses do NOT break up families. That's why so many of us on this board are still anonymous. Cause we're NOT worried our good family saving JW families would disown us for saying what we really think, right?

  Liars. this one really torqued me. Have to get my hands on this magazine in case we are "outed" (probably by me caving in and saying what I really think to my JW family.) Think I need to put a file together for when they try to tell me that *I* am the one breaking up the family. I won't be the one doing the shunning.

  oh, i am confused.

  someone has given me a little taste of my own medicine, and i don't like it.. here we are, very close to eleven years later to the day.

  does anyone know of some astrological or other synchronistic significance of a period of eleven years?.

  Karma is WAY more complicated than the way you are using it though. It's not really just "what goes around comes around." Karma takes in intent or lack of also. It can mean good or bad thoughts will follow positive or negative actions.

  As far as your situation, without details or intentions, it's hard to give this kind of advice on an internet forum. Just remember, kindness never hurts the giver, but harshness can.

  i thought this would be a good idea.

  the jws have a yearbook containing all the "uplifting experiences" that have happened all over the world.. i think it would be a great idea to see a yearbook of experiences people have written here.

  the experience 2escaped lifers gave of telling their children that they're leaving the troof gave me a great feeling.

  shunning my best friend. not having another close friend in my wedding because she was still on reproof. turning in the other kids for trivial matters. that self-righteous attitude that made other kids feel bad about themselves... lots of things.

  what songs or groups were you forbidden to listen to as a jw?

  were any specifically mentioned from the platform or were you counseled not to listen to a certain song?

  for me it was the entire def leopard hysteria album - bad heavy metal told it was demonic, i listened to it in secret, silk's "freak me" - a virgin listening to a song about hot sex?

  Anything with words. Any classical music from "demonized" composers like Franz Liszt. Any Jazz that had a suggestive title (like Fourplay, a jazz ensemble with four of the greatest modern jazz soloists collaborating.) Anything my friends listened to. Anything that was too "frenetic" cause it might be demons again. (Think Coltrane.)

  Oh yeah, Ray Charles, cause 1) there were words, some of them about drinking, and 2) he was immoral in his personal life. Which brings me to... any music that otherwise would be acceptable, but that the artist was "immoral." Anything patriotic, or by a composer who sometimes composed patriotic songs. (Sousa was BAD.)

  ugg, quitting now... need a drink and some NIN. haha.

  an article from the watchtower, 1964, 9/1 pages 536 -537.. this is the sort of crap that ruined my school life!

  my mum was a devout jw at the time and of course followed the guidance from the gb as if it were god himself.

  i wasn't allowed to do anything 'normal' at school, and this is why.. if jws ever deny that the society try to control every aspect of your lives show them this.

  Blonde Story of The Day - by Viv...

  before i start my story, there have been two developments in my life, the last few days, that i need to tell you...

  first thing: my fridge is broken, it has been broken for ages, and the effect of it being broken is a huge icecap forming inside of the fridge.

  a couple of days ago i was nicely told that i should clean the thing again, cuz the ice-cap took half the space of my fridge...

  BWAHAHAHA! I once had an icecap in my fridge so big like that, there was a half gallon of icecream in the middle of it that you couldn't even see. Turns out the ice blob was holding in a puncture in the freon line. so when the ice melted enough all the freon started whistling out of the hole. Damn fridge.
