A Marriage Made In Heaven?
by Englishman inher ladyship and i are absolutely delighted!
number 1 son and his charming lady have formerly announced their intention to marry in the coming year.. they've been visiting us for the last few days accompanied by my 6 month old grandson, charlie, a most cheerful and gurgly little boy who is guaranteed to bring an indulgent smile to anyone who catches his eye.. the wedding itself promises to be a truly grand affair with top hats and tails and god knows what else.
as for the venue of the wedding...wow!

For a place like that, plus catering, the price is not that bad. Friend of mine got married several years ago in a similar venue here in the states (West Coast) It cost them at least double that (if I got the exchange rate correct.)
Congrats All!!! Looks like it will be a beautiful thing.

LL, your friend's post was excellent. It's just how to reason with kids that age, so reasonable.
((((((Flower)))))) explanations are good, even at this age. But only you can know how much is enough, and what is too much. Good luck. Let us know when it comes up again, what you do, and how he handles it.

Ghettopoly .....why not BORGOPOLY !!!
by RubaDub inthe game "ghettopoly" is getting a lot of attention as a ghetto version of monopoly.. has anyone thought about a borg version of the game ?
it could be a lot of fun.

Umm, Fark, the "troll" is like, 9. And she was making a little joke. I love ya Farkel, (I really do. one of your fans) but sometimes you really need to read the whole thread. Think maybe you owe Jennie an apology, or at least some emoticons.

Wedding-related dilemma: help appreciated
by comment ini received a phone call from an old non-witness friend tonight.
he's just proposed to his girlfriend and they're getting married next summer.
she is catholic; he is agnostic.

FWIW, I got married in the KH to appease family and "friends." This meant I couldn't ask one of my closest friends to be in the wedding because she was "on reproof." So I asked a relative instead to stand up with me. I didn't particularly know this relative, but since I couldn't have my friend, it seemed a nice gesture.
Anyways, even though I know she understood, I think it still hurt her deeply. Especially because she knew I wasn't that happy about having the obligatory KH wedding. The friendship kind of fell apart after that. I regret it.
Do what you want to do. Would your friend really understand? Would your family really find out and turn you in?
Just my $.02, good luck.

Best news all day. Hopefully if enough of Europe says "no way," the US will finally get it's ass in gear and outlaw GM food crops.
