even when we dismiss the bible,belief in an original paradise that was lost because of sin was wide-spread among the ancient babylonians,assyrians, egyptians,and others.common to many accounts was a tree of life the fruit of which would confer eternal life on those partaking of it.so mankind remembera that something tragic happened in eden.. scientists acknowledge that the human race is a single family with a common origin.. so,bible or not,could there be any truth,proof,about this event,is it possible to have eternal life on earth or, are the stories among the ancients only myths?.

february 1,2003 page 20.would it be correct to conclude that bearing fruit means making disciples?does the fruit that we would bear refer primarily to individuals whom we help to become baptized worshipers of jehovah?

the bearing fruit in this case refers to making expressions about the kingdom.. october 15,2003 page 12.without a doubt the good news is bearing much fruit and increasing on these remote islands.in january 1990 there were 46 publishers in sao tome' and principe.during the 2002 service year,a peak of 388 kingdom proclaimers was reached!over 20% of the publishers are in full-time service,and about 1,000 home bible studies are being conducted.the 2001 memorial attendance reached an all time peak of 1,907.yes the word of jehovah is moving ahead speedily and is being glorified.. my point is ,on the one hand proclaiming the good news and bearing fruit has nothing to do with making disciples,it is making expressions about the kingdom.. on the other hand,proclaiming the good news and bearing fruit has to do with the increase,publishers,kingdom proclaimers,bible studies leading to more disciples,increases.. the society in the past has always equated bearing fruit with making disciples,now in a nine month spread,feb.

Bro gives talk by laptop...lol

despite my hangover, i reluctantly went to the meeting yesterday (the gaps are getting bigger each week).

i know that my eyes were a bit out of focus, but this is true, the young elder (age 27ish) gave the talk from his laptop.

his audience contact was crap as his eyes kept scrolling down the screen, mind you it was the worst talk i had heard for years, one of those 30 scriptures in 45 minutes events what we used to call read and run with no explanation.. .

We had a situation where the P.O.went on the platform without his Bible,using his palm ( very small hand held p.c. ).Also he was always using it in his seat during the meetings.

hey guys, thought i'd introduce myself...... my name is lars, and i'm 22... i'm majoring in education here in florida........ i was brought up as a jw, but i never really got into it... because the political side was so corrupt.... right now i'm just trying my best to be a good person, for myself and for god..... .

i'm a little rough around the edges... i shoot guns, race cars, ride bmx..... etc... so i guess my lifestyle didnt suit the jw's as well...... .

anyways, i searched around for a picture of myself, but i really dont have any "normal" ones......... .

Is the US a Christian Country? Should it be?

in a different discussion another poster made a popularly accepted statement about the religious foundation of the united states.

No.No.In GOD WE TRUST IS ON THE MONEY! Not in allah,buddah,mohammed,moses,jesus,lincoln,washington,no religion,just GOD.

Now everyone handles the money.Muslim,Jew,Christian,agnostic,atheist,evolutionist.

Many have a different perception of GOD,some dont believe in him at all.That don't stop any of us from using the money that says in GOD WE TRUST.

On one city block you will see,Christian,Jew,Muslim,atheist,etc.The only reason they are in this country is not because of Christian beliefs,its because of the freedom to practice any belief,or, none at all!

Just go to any big gambling place .they are using the in god we trust money,when they are trusting in luck to win.

They need to take that in god we trust off the money and make it neutral and secular.

I'm just ranting on,tired right now,didn't check the spelling.

Do Not Deceive Yourself.

the society says it is easy to deceive ourselves.in fact,it may be very difficult to give up or even question deeply cherished opinions.why?becuse we become emotionally attached to our views.. then we deceive ourselves by rationalizing--by manufacturing reasons to justify what are really mistaken and misleading beliefs.. now notice how the society explains this.---one indication that we may have fallen prey to this kind of self-deception is if we find ourselves becoming angry when our beliefs are challenged.. now notice what comes next.--instead of getting angry,it is wise to keep an open mind and " carefully listen"to what others have to say---even when we feel sure that our opinion is right.. according to this counsel,are they deceiving themselves?.

Mini. Not every one thought it was bulls**t.Many put their trust in the F&D.We put everything we had into living for the New System so close at hand!Sacrifices were made by many in all areas of life,families,children,careers,finances,education,etc.

That you saw 1975 for what it was,,just another year,does not take away the great loss and pain many others share because of following the counsel given leading up to that year.

This not an attack against you Mini.Its the Society that misled us ,not you.I believed it and prepared my family for it.

i am seeking factual evidence or documented information on the watchtower society's accumulated financial wealth, which they apparently just seem to be sitting on.

i have a jw coworker (a good guy) whose "kryptonite" may just prove to be his curiosity concerning the wbts's big fat juicy hoard of cash.

Suppose you donated $2,000.00 a year for 30 years,that = $60,000.00.Now you find out that you been donating to an Organization that has been using the money in ways that you do not approve or authorized.

Just as they gave Ray Franz some money,do you think you can get some of that money back too?
