I dont think I ever heard anything official from the org about smurfs but there were tons of rumors about smurfs choking babies etc.. It was pretty stupid now that I think about it.

Unwritten rules at the Kingdom Hall, what were yours ???
by run dont walk inevery one of us who attended the kingdom hall, must have went through this at some time, and noticed things you were not supposed to do, even though it wasn't wrong.
the biggie at our hall was do not sit in the back row, i always did, what was the deal on that, why put chairs there.
- don't back you car in, someone would go out and check this nightly, ???.

The unwritten rule in our hall and I think all halls were skirts had to be knee length or longer. I guess I was a rebel because I always wore skirts that were an inch or two above my knees and although I never got talked to about it I got alot or sideways glances from the elders and pioneers sisters. Actually one of the elders wives always wore her skirts above her knees too. From some of the stories I am hearing I guess my congregation, in northern California, wasn't as conservative as some of the other ones.

A picture is really worth a thousand words
by observador inmany people here have described how interesting this summer's conventions were.
well, i got this picture - which requires no explanation - from a faithful to the letter jdub but apparently with a good sense of humor.
now, if this picture made its way to an watchtower magazine, what would the caption be?

All of the young people are out cruising the halls and trying to pick up on the other single brothers and sisters. Thats exactly what I used to do. I remember when I was younger, going to the assemblies, it was all about showing off your new clothes and meeting single brothers. UGH!!!!

Should have seen the signs...
by breal in***the 4 door car***the inability to attend the annual family picnic on sunday ***the attitude so childish yet judgemental***
....funny thing is the words jw flickered in my mind on the second day i was there....and i never gave it much thought other than to wonder where the hell that came from...
the story: i started a new job recently.

I would ask her what congregation she is in and call and talk to her elders and tell them she keeps trying to talk to you. I have not heard of any new light about talking to DF'd people!

I agree with Dan the man also, I dont think the rose is very original but if you like it, thats all that matters. I also would not do one on my ankle but that is my personal opinion. I am thinking about getting a dragon on my bikini line, but to each his own. You should do what makes you happy.

Why don't they preach on TV or Radio?
by JH inwe all know that witnesses go door to door in order to give bible studies.
but since their message is so important to them, why don't they use all the available methods in order to reach out to the most people possible.
we live in an era of telecommunications, wireless phones, internet, and so on.

I agree with Teenyuck, I think they are just too cheap. Why do they need to pay for tv when they have millions of people to go door to door for free?

Do Any of Anointed live through Armageddon ?
by Gordy ini've been trying to get some information to clarify the above question.. we know the change in the 1914 generation teaching that occurred, in 1995.. what i want to know is do any of the anointed live through armageddon.. or according to jw teaching will they have all been taken to heaven before then.. i seem to remember back in 1995 when i was a jw having to review, with an elder, the district convention where the change on the "generation" was first put forward.. when discussing what we were going to say the elder asked what i thought the change meant.
i said it looks like that the all "anointed" would be in heaven before armageddon happens.
he agreed thats what he thought as well.. if anyone can give me some wt references to that thought, i would be grateful.

I seem to remember learning that they would all die before the end but then again I never really paid attention at the KH anyway.

That is so sad I am soo glad your ex cussed them out. Are those guys still elders???
I cant believe the society never got back to you. That just goes to show that they condone that behavior.
That just shows it is NOT gods organization!!!
