WHAT IS FACT. ( A bizarre fantazy)

i think my earlier post " what is a fact" has run it's course.

in this thread i would like to present the same question " what is a fact" from a different viewpoint.. many j.w children have loving parents ( that is a fact) but parents who insanley demanded unquestioning obidience to their deranged standards.. so " what is a fact" to innocent children is that a god who they have never seen nor heard, will destroy them if they dont live to the g.bs deranged standards.. so basically these children have been taught the wrong meaning of words:-.

love is conditional.

Hi nhah;.. children have imaginations which in the context of which you speak are not facts because as a child the truth of the imaginary thoughts they have are not known to them until the developing brain begins to reason ie they have not reached the stage of properly discerning for themselves what a fact is.

Thus imaginary friends, santa claus, fairies etc may seem real to them but can only be accepted as facts if reasoned upon ie to know why it's a fact.

Therefore you as an adult may say what is in the childs mind eg ' moley ' is a fact to them but that reasoning is precisely because you are an adult.

It is not the reasoning of the child therefore cannot be a fact.

GB Doesnt Believe in 1914 Anymore My reasoning

i have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.

this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.

there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

We are longing for the day the JWs, gb, watchtower falls on its own sword.

Speculative questions /statements will continue until that day, hopefully sooner than later.

The irony being, most of latin America is catholic/christian as a result of his expeditions.

He himself a christian but evidently a law unto himself.

Certainly not a person to be revered.

i just checked the jw.org website and noticed an article about the jw response to ebola.

as i suspected, the entire focus was on alerting and educating jw members about ebola.just like in other disaster situations, the jw organization almost exclusively assists it's own members, ignoring the general public.

it seems their main concern is keeping their members healthy so they can continue to spread the jw message door to door!!!

As is recorded in the NT, jesus cared for the multitudes not just the select.

JWs are so hypocritical.

If they believe they are chritian, why the distinctiin. They have plenty of bucks not just loaves and fishes.

"you are the next generation of " adult witnesses.

this one sentence using generation in the normal way, at a stroke, shows they just made up the overlapping teaching to get themselves out of a hole.. .

this is my first post here.. i was raised in "the truth", and am an ex-bethelite who worked in brooklyn for several years back in the 90's.

a few years after i left bethel, i started to become disillusioned after doing research about the society and reading crisis of conscience (i know..i wasn't supposed to do that lol).

i eventually stopped attending meetings and going out in service.

Master bob ;..exactly !! How many people in 'jesus time 'said or did good things what's so special about jesus supposed utterances.

The reason d'etre for all of us using this forum is precisely because of the significance given to this arguable individual.

Is it not about time mankind dismissed this ancient guesswork and concentrate on the good works of our contemporaries who deal with the present and work towards a better future without attaching the outcome to complex and controversial ancient myth.

Participants must note, refusal will automatically mean expulsion from the ' jehovah's hand studio '.

Only a letter of apology and acceptance of our answer will allow that person to participate again.

( After a period determined by the ' jehovah's hand ' studio director )

The person in the interim , must sit quietly in the audience without interjection until they accept that ALL answers we give MUST be accepted until such times when we decide to change the answer.

Perry I commend you for seeking evidence for jesus and what you attribute to him.

Looks like further investigation is necessary, or are you convinced by your research so far?

If so you are gullible and must have an underlying reason to base your life on such second /third hand accounts from ancients with an ancient uneducated agenda.

You are living in the 21st cent is it not time to wise up.

Those who use the white stick of religion , theism, evangelical deluded self comfort are indeed blind to rational evidential thinking.

Hi cofty;...I take my hat off to you sir, although I wonder on a personal note how you reconcile your many years as a theist and how this has affected your life coming to your stanpoint now.

For myself I was a believer but in terms of my life so far only for a relatively short time until my early 20s when I can say I was definately free of belief in god.

I experienced some emotional trauma in coming to terms with the fact that I had wasted so many years which to be brief could have been more beneficial / productive, so for yourself to have spent so many more years and may I say in a more comprehensive capacity must have impacted on you quite considerably.

Anyway as I say I take my hat off to you.
