  Can you prove Jesus existed outside of Bible (so called) evidence?

  i thought i'd done a thread on this before but can't find it.. so.

  did jesus actually exist?.

  without using the bible i'd like to see obvious proof..

  Believe what you want dude. I could care less in the least. As long as you don't push it on my kids and trap them in a cult. It's cool. No biggie. I'm cool with the spiritual, or not. You don't have to believe anything i believe. You haven't walked in my shoes.

  You ladies can't prove or disprove anything. Neither can I. So what. I'm fine with the mystery. It's kind of like getting to peak behind the curtain when you die. I'm not paying anyone for my beliefs and i don't have to mark any silly time card. I get the benefits of a clean conscience and forgiveness. I get the benefits of grace. I pray. It helps me. I don't ask to move mountains but maybe some day i will.

  Right now i pray a lot for my kids. For the wisdom to help them stear clear of the vicious cult. Right now i pray a lot. Every day. For guidance and direction. I pray and thank the lord. You can say all your athiest shit that you want. I couldn't care less.

  I don't know. Go rent a fucking billboard and shout it from the mountain tops if you want. Whatever makes you happy.

  I believe in the message of jesus. I don't have to prove anything. You can believe whatever you want. have fun. In the old days they would stone you for your beliefs. In the Jayhole house of horror they stone you too. It seems like the most wild eye'd former jw's are the most outspoken athiests. and i could pretty much care less because i never walked in their shoes.

  Nah. Strip all that away. 20 years ago i was a 3 time (nasty) cancer survivor. I had a choice to think about i was going to live, or i was going to die. From then on i pretty much framed my life that way. I got 2 beautiful kids to show for it. Reframe it and throw all that nonsense out. JMO.

  My sister's decision to ex-communicate me, just might rock the boat!

  it was 11 days after i received the email from my sister, informing me that she is no longer going to communicate with me.. i was never a jw, so i don't fully comprehend this decision, nor do i understand the games jw's play.. i talked to my mom yesterday, and she (baptized within last year) is getting more and more fed up with the nonsense.

  she has been trying to get everyone to come together, and she is seeing more and more extreme behavior from my sister and her husband.

  my mom is blaming my brother in law, but my sister has clearly spoken up and said she is speaking for herself also.

  You are not giving your sister the narcissistic props that you once did. She's devaluing you by the same degree that she once held you in esteem. (It's what narcissists do) She is moving on to find other people (suckers) to give her narcissistic supply.

  And when you throw away all of the layers of constructs

  about how we think:

  Religious mores,

  Agendas,

  Politics,

  Dogmas,

  Greed,

  Self flagellation,

  Social mores,

  Cultural mores,

  Speech,

  Language,

  Ambient abuse,

  Behavioral chains of nonsense,

  Yada yada yada,

  When we begin to throw away all of those layers,

  that frame our thinking,

  how we actually think about stuff,

  and how we came to think about stuff,

  we can’t even say we control our body functions,

  we can control how we think about body functions,

  but we can’t control the body functions themselves, (women's hormones case and point)

  to a point.

  But how we think about those basic things forms the basis of 'who we are' and what we choose to do with ourselves.

  If you get down to the core and live in the moment,

  nothing else begins to matter,

  I can’t control other people and what they say.

  I can’t control other people and what they think and what they choose to hear.

  I can’t control anything really.

  Other than my own thoughts and how I choose to frame them.

  It’s pretty simple.

  When you begin to look at things through that lens.

  I can’t control anything completely and unquestionably.

  I can control my mind and how I choose to think about things. That’s it.

  Consequences of the cult? FEAR and PASSIVITY - anything else?

  depending how long you where a member or if you where a born in, the watchtower leaves certain marks or traces in your mind that you only notice after leaving them for good.. i think this is similar to a big river, with a high level of water that covers the hidden rocks and cliffs.

  once you start lowering the water level, all these rocks come to the surface and suddenly that river is difficult to navigate.. like that river, our minds are flooded with false hope for the future, a naive expectation to have jehovah sort things out for you and lots of fake, conditional love and warmth.

  all these things hide the fact that the same organization also put some heavy rocks into your mind called fear and passivity.
