(please read this while you imagine Stephen Lett reading it)
Dear brothers,
What a wonderful job we have in spreading the good news of the Kingdom. It is certainly a privilege to participate in the many aspects of preaching the good news. One of the many privileges we have is contributing to the world wide work thru financial support. We have always cherished our ability to make voluntary donations. James 1:17 partly says that every good thing we have comes from above and don't we thank our father for providing us with everything we need. And since we know that everything good that we have comes from Jehovah, are we not more than ever confident that he will continue to provide?
The Governing Body has been carefully considering the implication of such providence and has come to realize that we have not fully understood God's will in this aspect. If everything good that we have, including but not limited to our time and financial means, come from Jehovah, it means these things belong to him to begin with.
In keeping with the prophecy of the Faithful and Discrete Slave, Jesus said that he would appoint us over all his belongings. Therefore, we feel it is reasonable he expects us to responsibly manage all his belongings, including the ones he has already given you.
We are excited to announce a new arrangement that will not just help, but ensure your continued support of the world wide work. Along with this letter, a new form has been provided to the elders and will be distributed at the end of this meeting. It will allow us to withhold a percentage of your paycheck and be transfered as a donation to the world wide work fund.
Off course, this will remain a matter of consciousness but in an effort to not stumble anyone who may think we are tithing, like the despicable practices of Christendom, we have set up the form with a checkbox for you to select the percentage. Therefore, you will not find a checkbox for 10%, only 20% and upwards.
We rest assured you will prayerfully consider just how you can continue to contribute to the preaching work in this manner
Your brothers... Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
PS
This postscript should not be read to the congregation or posted on the information board.
Arrange for this letter to be read to the congregation in the next midweek meeting.
This form should be made available to all publishers, both baptized and non-baptized. Elders should account for the number of forms filled out. If anyone did not fill out the form or was not present during the announcement. Efforts should be made to make sure they are made aware of this new arrangement. If after such efforts are made, the publisher did not return a completed form, we should consider the instructions provided in the Shepherds of the Flock of God book, regarding our appreciation for the spiritual provisions. Such publishers should not qualify for privileges in the congregation. Namely working the microphones or serving as book study assistants.

Cancer has been with us for a long time
by Coded Logic ina 2 million year old hominid has been discovered that had cancer in its foot - making it the oldest neoplasia found in the human lineage.
now, as to why cancer predates original sin by nearly 2 million years, i'd love to hear christian apologists try and explain.. http://sajs.co.za/osteogenic-tumour-australopithecus-sediba-earliest-hominin-evidence-neoplastic-disease/patrick-s-randolph-quinney-scott-williams-maryna-steyn-marc-r-meyer-jacqueline-s-smilg-steven-e.

Well if you ask my original bible study conductor, he said to me that animals were never meant to live forever like humans. Therefore if this cancer infested thing they found is to be consider an animal, then he is still right. (add sarcasm at will)

I thought that when scientist say that a certain human ancestor or ape walked upright it meant they did so habitually. Not as an exception to get around a problem.
If just because they have the physical ability to stand in two legs then I have a new respect for my dog.

Finally found a friend I can talk to
by StarTrekAngel inhe is an old friend that used to attend my congo.
he moved away closer to his parents at some point and we lost touch.
for a couple of years i did not hear anything from him.

Having known him and his relationship with his dad for a while, I assume his dad got after him for showing up like that. For not having shown respect for those around him regardless of what he believes. Not that I agree with such stand, just saying that most likely this is where it came from.
No different than what many of us do to stay under the radar. He is a bit more pushy than I am though.

I know... it is always a calculated risk. Never the less, he is pretty far out at the moment and while he is shocked by the ARC for example, he did not know the UK was headed in the same direction. So he is terribly shaken by this but he has not yet heard it all.

He is an old friend that used to attend my congo. He moved away closer to his parents at some point and we lost touch. For a couple of years I did not hear anything from him. Occasional text messages but nothing in detail. I bumped into him in one of the last assemblies I attended willingly (although I was already mentally out). He showed up to the assembly with his parents and a girlfriend but he was wearing a beard. The next day in the same assembly the beard was gone. We exchanged phone numbers.
I texted him after and I felt he may have been avoiding me. Figure he know I saw him with a beard and probably thought I was going to preach to him. I texted him again yesterday and we had a long conversation. Turns out he is just as awaken as I am. He is also as trapped as I am... not being able to freely speak up.
Anyway... I feel is a good relief for both of us to know we are not alone. I also know this community rejoices every time a new "apostate" is discovered.

Has anyone contacted the "Fredom of mind" center?
by StarTrekAngel injust curious to know if anyone has requested assistance from them regarding cult issues and family... if so, would you please share your experience?.
i submitted a case form almost a year ago but received no response.
i understand my case is not considered the most urgent but i figure i would have heard from them by now.. thanks.

Nice I wish I could go. But I was actually referring to the center run by Steven Hassan. They claim to provide assistance for relatives of cult members and health professionals dealing with it.

I recall very clearly that in one of his talks he does say "I come from a wealthy family" and that they often question why he spend his time in this church rather that being involved in the family business". Back then when I heard that was the first time I wondered the same thing in this OP
