That is so awesome! What may appeal to the DUBS is FREE TUITION. Nothing says JW like free handouts! -

According to Oct.1st 2012 WT Directions- Past Child Molesters CAN Be Appointed Elders
by flipper inconsidering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.
2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.
these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.

Conti v WT court documents
by umbertoecho ini don't know if this has been read by any who are on this forum.
i have only received it in the last few minutes.
it is a good document in that, it is easy to understand, it's not full of legal jargon.

Splash, thanks for reiterating the quote: "Worldly persons are quick to resort to lawsuits if they feel their ‘rights’ have been violated." I remember reading this when it came out. Upon deeper reflection on that quote....There is a vast difference between starting a lawsuit because of a simple 'right' being violated and a crime being committed against their person. That is what child abuse is- a CRIME. -

Flipper, thanks for your response. One of my favorite says is "It's not what they SAY it's what they DO". Surely by reappointing those men, they are showing what they really are inside. They are more concerned about sharing the work load than the safety of children. I agree that eventually it will come back to bite them with possibly more lawsuits as these men show again what is in their hearts. But how many unsuspecting young people will be victims? -

If you were told today you would die next week, would you be happy and fine with that?
by EndofMysteries ini don't know how so many who seem to be certain this life is it after being jw's seem to happily accept it and be fine with it.
i am living and trying to live as if this is it.
i want there to be a future life/afterlife, something, but i see how fast life comes and goes and even if i'm living it to the fullest, there is no peace for me with the thought this may be it.

Hi Flipper,In the late 1970’s there was an elder in our hall that was removed for having sex with a minor within our congregation. He was disfellowshipped and the girl disappeared. (Moved to a different area) Through the years, the brother became reinstated and worked hard to regain his reputation. He was told that he would never serve in the capacity of an elder again.
I saw the brother a few months ago and he said that he had good news to tell me. He said that they were considering him for a position within the congregation. I asked him how that could be the case. He said that the new CO said that since the incident happened years ago and he evidently has displayed Jehovah’s spirit, that it was possible within the next few months he can be appointed a MS and shortly afterwards an elder. He was so excited at the prospect. I care for the person, however I was devastated at the news.
My ex was also an elder and was removed and publically reproved for domestic battery. He has been working towards reappointment himself. Although he has not been reappointed, he works behind the literature counter and has various responsibilities within the congregation. He is hoping to gain a helping hand to into a position of authority again.
I shudder at the thought of any of this happening, but it is understandable from the viewpoint that there are very few men reaching out for oversight. THE WT is in a bind and need qualified men. HOWEVER, although it is understandable, it is unacceptable that these people could regain positions of oversight. Can you imagine if either of these men was reappointed and were assigned to a committee dealing with abuse? The victim would not stand a chance given their background and attitudes. God, I'm so glad I'm out!
