  You might save the slave some time and look for yourself at Watchtower Quotes website; the one the slave is sueing to try to shut down. Im sure you might be able to find what all the slave had to say in the past concerning Thanksgiving.

  Defd - I am sensing that you really mean this. But the term "Balanced Witness" is truly an oxymoron. I know, as do most here. We lived as 'Balanced Witnesses' for years.

  Face it, my friend, the WTBTS will not allow you to develop 'balance', if in your mind that means using your own conscience and making your own decisions about how to live according to the Bible.

  The most 'balanced' witnesses you will ever find are here on this board. They had to leave to make 'balanced' decisions. I know, that is what I had to do. Many here are not the 'evil apostate thinkers' you envision. We were right where you are some time back. I know I was.

  Your recent threads are making it clear that you see some of the gapping holes in Wt theology. I am glad for that. But I fear that you somehow think you can 'reform' the society or at least live within reforms you choose, while remaining a JW.

  They won't let you. You follow the rules and 'theocratic order' - or you will soon match your screen-name here - Df'd.

  I really think you are starting to see that. Worship of God does not include a second mediator - the Watchtower Society.

  My wife knows and so does my kids. I do not hide this. I am not ashamed or do I think its wrong. I come here for a few reasons. If you are interested maybe you can look up some of my latest topics or posts. I have thoroughly explained why and my position.

  I didn't know that. I thought you were doing all this quietly on your own.

  You didn't respond to it, Derrick, but did you consider the question I asked you earlier?

  Essentially it was, "If the faithful and discreet slave can -- by their own admission -- make mistakes, and since they are the ones that identified themselves as the FDS, isn't it possible that they were mistaken about their identity?"

  This is a very safe question to consider, because it doesn't ask you if they ARE mistaken, only if it is POSSIBLE that they are mistaken. If you determine that it *is* possible, then you may have to move up the chain to more uncomfortable questions. But for now, this is a fairly academic one. Maybe your wife has a thought on it?

  (I hope you can read that I am entirely sincere here. There is no intent to simply kick you to hear you yelp.)

  I would love to be civil friends, but after reading your first post, I see you do not want to talk to anyone disfellowshipped. I respect that and will not reply to you again, but I must say in parting, you have alot to learn, and I hope you can get what you need from this site.
