"How can you have confidence in an organization that's been dead wrong about the future across 120 years?"

"Why did Jesus and the Apostle John avoid using the name "Jehovah"? ( Lord's Prayer, death on the cross, 3 letters of John)

The "Truth" should stand up to any questioning, so why not question?

Isn't that how something becomes the "truth" by questions. To sort the the true from the false.

During a trial in a court of law, questions are asked to determine the truth.

How much more for something that you will be living your life by.

"If it's really the truth, then there is no outside scruntiny it shouldn't stand up to right?"

Why is there any reason to limit what you can read or listen to? Its not a case of satan poisoning your mind, its a case of you finally hearing something that makes the house of cards come tumbling down.

I saw an elder of my former congregation at a warehouse store, wearing sunglasses (inside) and reggae-patterned shirt (Rasta?), other glasses hanging off his collar, who saw me but didn't say "Boo". Outside I saw him loading his truck and approached.

After a reluctant and brief conversation with me (wherein things I said were ambiguous), the last thing I said was: "You should start using your brain."

    Pretty much sums it up.

"No matter what you think of me as a non-witness, I will still love you and pray for you anyways"

The witnesses around here hate it when worldlies have a sense of love and even more so the "I will pray for you" comment. It really sends them for a loop for some reason.

    Ouch!

But probably the best thing you could have said, under the circumstances.

Can you tell me three things about the Watchtower Society that you DISLIKE or DISAGREE WITH? If nothing substantial is replied or they come up short, say, "hmmm...I'm sorry but any group of humans will have flaws and if you aren't free enough to recognize or voice them, then that scares me. Good bye."

This is a decent question to separate the "thinkers" from the "company men". Once you've made that distinction, then you'd be ready to proceed. Beautiful!

Do you think your JW brothers will help you or any other jw in case you find yourselves in need?

This question will make them think that they will get to know their genuine christian brothers in times of difficulty. Perhaps they know of jws that were abandonned when in adversity since they are well known for the lack of solidarity between themselves both as individuals and as an organisation, and the WTS is a super rich entity.

"They have an external appearence of godliness but they deny its power"
