A reminder for Witnesses who deny this

    Gumby,

When have you EVER heard it mentioned from the pulpits of Christendom that ANY deceased member will come back to live on the EARTH? They ALL go to heaven, don't cha know!

Also, it was quite slithery of you the way you skirted around some of the things I stated up above. For example:

I think that is to be understood in the light of Christendom's belief/message that all the "saved" are destined for heaven (no restoration of an earthly paradise). "If you were to die tonight are you sure you'll go to heaven?" I've heard Christendom's clergy say that many times. Some Churches teach that the "kingdom" is in a person's heart. In contrast, the WTS preaches about a Kingdom (a heavenly government) that will rule the earth for 1000 years under the headship of Christ. The Kingdom that the WTS preaches about is one that condemns and will put an end to man's system of self-rule--symbolized by a 7-headed wild beast that derived its power and authority from God's adversary the Devil. In contrast, Christendom promotes man's system by getting involved in the politics and wars of the nations.

So in the truest sense the WTS is the only religion making known God's Kingdom. The only flaw I find with the WTS's version of it is with regards to them teaching that it has already been established, in 1914.

    Schizm:
Just to widen your perspective (if possible):

I personally know of a greatly respected Evangelical Presbyterian Minister who teaches that since scripture speaks of a bodily resurrection, it only makes sense that there will be something physical to stand upon, i.e. the "new earth".

How many more of your cherished beliefs about Christendom do we need to shoot down in flames, before you realise that you've been fed WT-poopoo and taught it was chocolate?

Last time I argued with a Witness, I bit myself in the ass.

But yet that same "greatly respected Minister" teaches that all the "saved" go to HEAVEN. So, does this "greatly respected Minister" teach that the "new earth" is somewhere up there in HEAVEN? Now that would make a lot of sense, wouldn't it!

"Sorry Mr. Presbyterian minister, but because your willfully rebellious and blasphemous preaching regarding the earth, heaven, the afterlife, and the resurrection, you now must DIE!!!!!" - Jerhover at Armageddon

    Dan:
Fortunately the said Minister's deity of choice isn't restricted to the box that Schizm places his own in.

Schizm:How do you understand Pauls expression of an experience (either his own or that of an acquaintence) involving the "third heaven"/"paradise"?

Further, how do you deal with the idea of a "new heaven"? Is the existing one somehow corrupt?

My daddy told me once, do not ever continue to argue with a fool.

If you do continue, it becomes difficult to determine who is and who is not, the fool.

I read the above in the other thread, and I think it aptly applies with regards to having any further discussion with you.

I could share my understanding regarding the 3rd heaven which Paul spoke of, but then I myself would be the fool if I were to share it with you.

That kind of comment really is beneath contempt....

Do you really just not get the idea of a "Discussion" board?

schizm, when you state opinions and beliefs as fact you invite criticism. I've been a JW for over 30 years and know the way the WTBTS demonizes other religious groups. They are good at handing out criticism but not to good about receiving it.
