    Off topic:
He could do like I did with the ex when she sued me. I went to court and told the judge that I did not have an attorney. He gave me a month to get one. I got one. The first thing he did was have it moved to another court. I have spent $2250 so far and was awarded the house and property. I also had her back in court for not letting me have access to the child because of my anti-Watchtower theology. The court made some orders for her to comply with However, she is now in contempt of court for employing WT theocratic warfare against the court. I am going to ask the judge to overlook her contempt against the court because of the fear and terror the Watchtower Society has inculcated into her 'spiritually mature' mind.

All you active JW's out there who lurk should be aware that the WTBTS will coerce you to commit perjury and contempt then they will turn their backs on you when the courts take offense at your cult induced actions.

On topic: Whatever he decides, just remember that his website exposed the truth about the apostate WTBTS.

    Greetings!

It is too bad Quotes isn't located in California or California's Anti-SLAPP laws would speed things along. All Quotes would have to do is show that what he was doing was protected free speech activity and the burden would shift to the WTS to prove that it would prevail on the merits or else suffer a summary judgment motion.

So any of us is vulnerable at any time? Any company with a burr up its butt can decide to bring a civil case against me and as long as on its face it is sustainable enough for a trial, I'm toast. My god, that's scary.

    Dave

Dave...In Canada this is the way I THINK it will work. Just before the trial the WT lawyers will ask for delays and ask Quotes to supply more information...documents whatever. (money) They might also ask for delays so they can talk with more of their "legal experts" (money) They will try to run the bill up as high as they can before the trial starts.

Then they will approach "Quotes" privately and offer a deal that they will not proceed (and bankrupt him) if he will kill the website.

It will be a hell of a choice to have to make and it is a hard road he has set out on. Having said that I WILL be here for him both as supporter and with with my cheque book.

Well if quotes had intentionally published his materials in a satrical way, (one in which no one would take the claims seriously) then he would have been ok.

Would a banner at the top of each page reading something to the effect of "this is what these highly trained biblical scholars, very loving brothers without any child molester amoung them believe on alternate thursdays in months ending Y" qualify as satire?

Would a Sparticus Strategy (trade mark this!) of having so many mirrors beat the Theocratic Fatwa Strategy (trade mark this too)?

Quotes has fought the good fight. I could not fault him for apologizing and pulling the plug.

How could they take down a guerrilla like me i have many mirror sites and blogs and thousands of pages of commentary on countless servers?Just google my name.

    That's how we beat em!

That is quite possible with the internet. Quotes can pull the plug himself and take his site off the internet, but because of the many copies, downloaded websites, etc. already out there, there would still be a chance that the info will still be out there on the net for some time to come. If that happens, the Society would win the battle but fail their actual objective.

If I'm wrong about this didn't the Quotes site used to have commentary but the WTS has been after him for a while and as a result he took out the commentaries. Seems that wasn't good enough and now the WTS wants what is left gone too. Is that right????

The one good thing for Quotes is that court cases in Canada tend to be cheaper than in the US.

Interestingly the WTS has a well established reputation in Canadian courts for creating laws to protect their freedom of speech and religion. Hmmmmmm this could get interesting. - well more interesting than it already is.

Actually, I was wondering if anyone would catch that and if they ever saw Micheal Moore's docu on guns(forget the name). He went through a neighborhood in Windsor, I believe, walking right into people's homes. Their doors were not locked.
