The organization book even requires that the accused be told of the allegations, and even upon being DF'd, the Elders are supposed to ask you if you wish to appeal and tell you why they took the action that they did. But, having served as PO, you are well aware of this. The problem is that when it comes to allegations of apostasy, the WTS and Elders don't often follow their own procedure. Welcome to freedom, as Dr. Martin Luther King once said, "Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last."

  Thank you for speaking to Dateline about the pedophile issue. If the Elders try to DF you, you may be able to tell them you are going public, and any action taken against you will result in a civil suit against them and the Watch Tower Society. This may make these men back off. Whatever you do, your speaking out about this issue is worth so very much to so many, and again, in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

  exodus - 'tis good to (virtually) meet you - the de-programming is exactly what i am personally having problems with, but the friends here are fine associates and have already helped me in three short weeks ... i wonder why all the 'quality' friends leave the society huh ? ...

  What an excellent point! Without being boastful, I have observed that the Society is getting drained...they are losing their best and most thoughtful people. From the posts out here, we [evil apostates, heh heh] can see that this is true.

  Why? Because people with a heart cannot stand for very long what is happening in there! (To borrow a Scripture, they sigh and groan over the detestable evil happening within...) When opportunity for freedom comes, a person will see it & take it! (Those who follow the Borg blindly don't see the need for freedom, they're satisfied with the so-called life they have inside the society. OK for them, not for us...)

  I'm so glad there where people to help you and that your wife stood by your through all your mental anguish and trying times. I'm even more glad that you and your family have been been set free.

  As thinker said, you have a conscience and it seems that people who have a conscience don't make could cult members. Sooner or later they get treated just as you did for having a heart and being a loving person.

  It their loss, the WTS is hurting for elders especially P.O.'s like you used to be. Good men are hard to find.

  In my discussion with the producer, believe me that was an option, but due to NBC policy it was not feasible at this time. Will I do if any other network is interested? Oh yea!! LOL Those of you who speak spanish knows about "primer impacto". Hum who knows!!!!!! Stay tune!!!

  I know exactly what you mean. I was never allowed to talk to my accussers only to listen to all the allegations. Comments that were taking out of context I was not allowed to apoligize if they took the wrong way. But never did I felt a loving atmosphere in that meeting. I made a promise to myself and I kept it. I was going back for more abuse. They were never direct me to the Elders book. They know they didn't follow their own guidelines. So by not answering my letters they feel that a quick execution will leave them of the hook. That's what they think!! But Watch out, this is only the begining!!!

  This is, actually, a great idea! In Norway we taped a meeting like that with hidden microphones, and the Watchtower accused us of having "tampered with the tapes"! The elders did say so many insane and stupid lies they just couldn't defend it!

  To walk into that meeting wired is actually a great idea - or go there together with a politican, a lawyer or something. Stepping in there allone - just to play THEIR game - it's waste of time! Neither my wife, nor I - went to talk to the lynch-mob :)
