I'm fading.
If I get df'd it will be for apostasy. If so, I'll be proud to stand up for my beliefs.

While I'm not DF'd, I am being shunned for not attending meetings, listening to Christian music, having a Christmas cookbook in my possession, and "religious" books (NIV study bible, and a book on prayer).

I was not DFed. I left the WTS on my own terms.
I've just stopped going, moved to a different town, didn't leave any forwarding info.
Seems to have worked (insert ominous musical break here) FOR NOW...
I also left and so far have managed to dodge the DF bullet. I figure it's only a matter of time before they decide to make something official though. It's well known in my JW family that I celebrate holidays at least.
I too disfellowshipped them. Wrote a letter and never heard from them again...I guess I didn't have enough money to spark their concern!
Years later..after coming to the XJW boards..I wrote asking for a copy of my letter I sent them..I couldn't remember what all I said..but it had something in their to incriminate someone..
They said"It is their property now and No I couldn't have a copy!.".Imagine that~
So if anyone wants to write them a "Good-by letter..be sure you make a copy..
Snoozy Q...
ps..Years later my JW Mother in law asked the Elders at her hall if they could associate with me..they were told it was OK as I was never disfellowshipped.(Surprise Surprise..)Matter of fact they had requested a copy of my letter and said they felt bad for what I went through..I guess they wanted me back...yeah right!
My dad (God rest his soul) was the P.O. for many years and 'high up' the ranks in our Circuit. According to him a person could get disfellowshipped for anything. For instance, if you ignored counsel by the elders, you could be DF'd for having a bad attitude (and thus could spread it and contaminate the entire congregation).
My first husband was DF'd as we split up......everyone assumed it was for immorality with another sister, but it was actually because he refused to listen to the elders and try to work on our marriage. He did have an attitude problem.....with just about everyone....and was very arrogant. I think they DF'd him to try to teach him a lesson. It didn't work and he's happily moved on in his non-JW life (which I think is wonderful)
So, basically, you can be DF'd for just about anything if you piss off the elders enough.

I have disfellowshipped people for
Fornication
Adultery
Persistent lying
Stealing/Burglary
Smoking pot
Stilla - was the reason for the dfing a lack of repentence for the deed or the deed itself? Its been my observation that if one has committed an act but is repentent, then they may not be df'd but reproved..but if they refuse to repent then they will be df'd. So that would tell me that the act itself is of little consequence but the level or act of repentence would be....sammieswife.
