Because I did not believe Jesus came in 1914--- then while they were telling me I HAD to believe that - -I told them I had read Crises of Conscience ----I guess that was the straw that broke the Camels back. THANK GOD!!!! I feel like sending thank you cards to the elders that kicked me out. Best thing that ever happened to me in my whole life.
What were you disfellowshipped for?

Honesty
I called 718-560-5600 and asked some questions about the United Nations, the Australian Parliament and Bulgaria. When the answers I received were diametrically opposed to the documents in my possession I informed the individuals at 718-560-5600 that they are a bunch of liars and hypocrites. I then made copies of several documents and distributed them to some of my then JW friends. Probably would have been able to slip out of that spot of trouble until I told two local elders that I had been secretly worshipping Jesus for a few weeks.

Apostasy (although I didn't contradict the WT teachings publicly until a Judicial Committee questioned me about what I actually believed).

Narkster, This is what is so hypocritical about those who wish to leave quietly. The society asks all those who no longer believe the Organisation is gods mouthpiece to just leave without making a stink. They don't usually classify one as an apostate if they do not make it verbal to others or anyone else........but then they question you and you give your honest opinion and they label you as an apostate for making it verbal to them! If you read some of the definitions of the society view on what an apostate is, it's one who encourages or influences OTHERS to share your views. You did no such thing. Perhaps you should have "appealed" it just to give em hell. Gumby

I did. To no avail. The two COs who organised the first Committee (without taking part in it) were sitting on the second one. When I saw them in the KH I just burst out laughing.
Actually I didn't want to leave. That was my life. But I had to be true to myself, so I knew it couldn't last.

Narkster....I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when you laughed.

Me too. Losing your religion is tough when you truely believed in it........but we didn't 'lose' ourself at least.

Was df'd for immorality - living with my boyfriend, before we got married.
What I thought was interesting was the fact that I had not been to a meeting for over 2 years and they searched me out to df'd me. My understanding, at the time, was that if an individual was out for a 'period of time' they could not be dealt with judicial. It is only when the person decides to come back that they are dealt with by the elders. ( I could be wrong about that. Abviously, I was. Thought there was a letter received by the body of elders explaining persons being out for a 'period of time' and how to deal with them)

Finally-Free
I was not disfellowshipped. I disfellowshipped the watchtower cult because of their lies, protection of child molesters, false prophesies, abusive practices, and apostasy.
