GINNY,
You win the million dollar prize. You got the answer to my quiz question. My wife, myself, and my son are first born. If you ask that question of people, about half can't figure it out. I think it is because, when you say "family" they think of children and not the parents.
Ten known and lesser known facts
1. I was born in the UK, have 4 brothers and one sister, all raised as JWs, only two remain in.
2. I married last year (2nd time around) the most wonderful person who I met by chance and never dreamed I could ask her out…(she gave lots of less than subtle hints)
3. I have circumnavigated the globe & crossed the Atlantic 18 times.
4. Minnesota is home but I have been a resident of Australia as well.
5. I am a mechanical engineer but work in software development having retrained in the early 90’s.
6. I qualified for a FAI ‘A’ Certificate as a parachutist.
7. I like dark beers, red wine and scotch. My favorite dishes are curries and I cook my own.
8. I like female vocalists in the main but have a number of classic albums from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles, the Beach boys and Queen but in my car you’ll also find classical recordings and opera.
9. I watch F1 racing on Sunday mornings (spring and summer) and Football (NFL style) on Sunday afternoons (fall and winter)
10. I have one son who I have joint custody of and a cat who has full custody of everyone else.
COMF is my pal ‘cause he shaved at least 13 years of my age recently – I’m 41.

10 Significant things about me:
1) I was born, or hatched. I'm not sure, I don't remember the event.
2) I was raised a dub and suffered accordingly.
3) I left the dubs and suffered accordingly.
4) I trusted people in life and business that shouldn't be trusted and suffered accordingly.
5) I had a mother who made me wrong for everything I ever did or didn't do, and I suffered accordingly.
6) I married and my wife made me suffer accordingly.
7) I divorced and my former wife made me suffer accordingly.
8) I've tried to help dubs see the truth about their religion in the only way I know how to do it, and others have made sure I've suffered accordingly.
9) I've taken chances in life and made contributions in numerous ways that very few people have been able to do. This includes inventions, music, writing, computer programming, auto racing, dirt-bike racing, and giving seminars for large groups of people. The mark of a true pioneer in any endeavor is that once you finally catch up to him, you will find him face down with an arrow in his back. True innovators are those who generally suffer most from jealous losers and non-creative types. As a result, I've suffered accordingly.
10) I will one day die, and I'm sure that in so doing, I will suffer accordingly. It seems to be my style in life.

1. I'm a woman, 51, happily married to a man *almost* 57, been married 20 years. Both of us are left-handed. I became jw at age of 18 - I think looking for security.
2. 3 kids. They are girl, 30, boy 26, boy 26. All beautiful, self-sufficient, and intelligent. They beat the odds.
3. 3 dachshunds, Stumpy, Ginger & Bonita Nina. Evil little happy-go-lucky dogs.
4. Love to garden - over 100 varies of Daylilies & 'bout an acre under garden cultivation.
4. My husband & I own a business, and that's ok. We didn't start a retirement fund much earlier - and now we're playing catch-up. Word to the wise.........contribute to your IRA's faithfully and you might be able to retire early.
5. Love jokes.

Good thing I could talk my way out of a lot of situations! Was an Art Major, but went no further - in my inability to understand - I just knew I could never be good enough. Went to college for 2 yrs, but never took art, somehow that door closed.
9. Like rock&roll (Bob Segar, Queen etc.) and Van Morrison - my favorite.
10. Both parents heavy drinkers, smokers. Both died of lung cancer. Father violent & rapist, mother knew. Children, only one rapist (brother). Our children, one victim. Next generation......hopefully we will have it weeded out of our family. At least from what we're aware of anyway.
