MommieD,
Don't forget your wonderful chicken soup, yeast rolls, and cinnamon bread! Mmmmmmmm.
I bet you made a great Lucy. I would have liked to see you flipping Schroeder's piano over.

I need cpr (mouth-to-mouth might do, but that would look stupid too)! I can't catch my breath from laughing at sevenOO6 10 things!
thanks, seven006

somebody,
You found all that funny? I was dead serious about all of it. My life is not something to laugh about. My life sucks.
I'm like the realization of logical's worst nightmares. Imagine a woman with the intelligence of Fred Hall, the body of Jerie Hall and the fore play "lets make a deal" techniques of Monty Hall, that's what I was married to.It's not funny. I need a drink, no, I need about ten. The hell with that, I need some drugs. where's Slayer!

Yes, a great idea for a thread, Joel!
Ten totally uninteresting facts about me...
1. I was born in the turbulent year 1968 (Sept 29, to be exact)
2. As a kid, I actually learned to read (and sorta write) at the age of two, which made me a good reader and an exceptionally lazy student for the rest of my life.
3. I left the JWs in 1995.
4. I was totally obsessed with Lego as a kid, and well into my teens. Still like them, and thank those Danes for that great idea which gave me so much fun.
5. I am a music fan with no ability to sing or play an instrument whatsoever. My all time favorite band is Queen.
6. My favorite beer is Guinness.
7. Favorite books: I cannot choose between Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Asimov's Foundation. Both trilogies, and I actually read both at the same time.
8. Carl Sagan made me wildly interested in history when I watched his TV show Cosmos. I did give the late, great popularizer of science warm thoughts when I much later obtained my MA in history of religions.
9. Lived most of my life so far in Bergen, Norway. Pretty perfect place to be born and raised, but the weather sux, so I don't intend to stay forever.
10. I love to travel, and have felt more and more restless as time goes by... Be careful; I may stop at a pub near you!
11. I was never very good with numbers.

1. I am the youngest of three children, and I am still called “Chucky” by everyone in my family. Both of my older sisters managed to escape the onslaught of “the truth” allowing all of that cosmic energy to be focused my way. Lucky me.
2. I have been divorced since 1989, and have not lived with anyone since, although I have had a date or two along the way.
3. I have two great kids: a daughter (21) and a son (18). Pictures of both are on my website, www.chuckdoherty.com. The kids live year-round on Martha’s Vineyard when they are not away at school.
4. I was born and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island. After living in Massachusetts while married, I moved back to RI in 1990, and live there still. From 1992 through this spring, I also kept an apartment in northern New Jersey that I used during the week, to be closer to where I was working.
5. The last time I was in a Kingdom Hall was in 1993, for my mother’s memorial service. Before that, I had not been in one since around 1980. They have not gotten any more inviting over the years.
6. I am neither DF not DA, so those folks from my former life just don’t know what to make of me when they run into me at the supermarket. I am always friendly and cheerful, and have never had any of them snub me. I had only one friend offer to stop by for a “sheparding” call one time many years ago, but I told him not to waste his time.
7. I started a software-consulting firm in 1982, and am still in that line of work. Mostly, I design and install systems for state and national lotteries. I know all there is to know about scratch-off lottery tickets, especially the foolishness of purchasing them. My erstwhile job has permitted me to see most of this country as well as travel to a few interesting places overseas. This has allowed my having had more than one meal with Kent and Norm in Norway. Contrary to what you may think, Kent does indeed eat with a knife and fork, and does not use his hands and pointed sticks as utensils.
8. I love good food and wine, and have a modest wine cellar here at Casa Chuck. My most recent major purchase was one of those 36” stainless-steel commercial ranges that I have been lusting after for a few years. Some men my age may go for a Corvette and a 22-yo stripper, but my midlife crisis-driven purchases lean more toward major appliances.
9. For a few years I supported myself as a writer. I had one book published in 1987, and if you look up my name on Amazon.com you will still see it listed, although it is out of print.
10. I have a huge collection of hot sauces, and another large collection of giraffes. The giraffe collection stems from a childhood trauma in which my father threw away my beloved toy giraffe, saying I was “too old” for such a thing. I sure showed him, didn’t I?

For anyone who wants to know:
1) I'm going to be 29 in November.
2) I have lived in four houses in California all of my life, and all within a ten mile radius of each other (talk about sheltered).
3) I'm so tired of being sheltered, that I'm quitting my job and moving to Hawaii in January to go and enjoy my life, be a beach bum and wait tables for awhile.
4) I'm divorced and I have no children. I was married for five years.
5) My parents are married 31 years and they are actually truly still in love! (No longer JDubs either, thank goodness).
6) I still dont know what I want to be when I grow up. (I think that was an effect of being raised a JDub, not allowed really to have a "passion" other than the religion)
7) I have two jobs right now. My day job is extreemly boring but it gives me plenty of time to be on this board. My other job is waiting tables, and it's very fun! (Not what I want to do when I grow up, but perfect for me right now)
8) I love to travel and want to see the world.
9) I love to read, and although I am agnostic, I want to study religion.
10) I have always been a very shy person, and I'm coming out of that phase of my life. Watch out world!

1) I'm was born just after midnight on 1/1/64. My parents needed a tax break so they talked the doctor into changing it to 12/31/63. My mother still refuses to admit this as true but dad has no problem with it.
2) I'm from a large Italian-Catholic family. I'm the second oldest of seven children. I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles.
3) I've bicycled alone across America when I was 19. I wanted to see the USA and get the hell away from my parents.
4) As a child, I loved to play in the dirt and fire. Probably explains why I'm into ceramics as a hobby.
5) I love the outdoors and hiking. My favorite hiking trail is the Inca Trail.
6) I've been the victim of an attempting car jacking. Probably the second worst moment of my life.
7) My wife joining the Borg in 1989--Worst moment of my life. I hate the Borg. Did I mention I hate the Borg.
8) Best moment in my life: The birth of my son 7 months ago. He's awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I want another :-)
9) I've been playing guitar for about 8 months.
10) I'm adventurous and love the outdoors. I love camping and backpacking. I hope to own a couple of llamas someday (soon I hope).
Thanks for suggesting a great topic Joel.
Peace,

Ginny,
I would be Scarlett, but alot easier to get along with. I could really get into having all those southern gentlemen panting after me.
