you are on the right path
Theme: As JWs, we shouldn't be haughty because we are humble.

w04 8/1 p. 11 Jehovah Reveals His Glory to Humble Ones ***Cultivate
Humility and Enjoy God’s Favor15
To enjoy lasting divine favor, we must remain humble. Once humble does not mean always humble. It is possible for a person to abandon humility and give way to pride and self-exaltation, which lead to presumptuousness and disaster. Saul, the first one anointed as king of Israel, did just that. When he was first chosen, he felt ‘little in his own eyes.’ (1 Samuel 15:17) However, after having ruled for only two years, he acted presumptuously. He disregarded Jehovah’s arrangement for offering sacrifices through the prophet Samuel, and he fabricated excuses for taking things into his own hands. (1 Samuel 13:1, 8-14) This was the beginning of a chain of events that unmistakably betrayed his lack of humility. The result was the loss of God’s spirit and favor, which eventually led to his ignominious death. (1 Samuel 15:3-19, 26; 28:6; 31:4)
Are we haughty because we feel we have Jehovah's spirit and others do not?
Saul had Jehovah's spirit and it led him to become haughty and sin.

Why
Teach Yourself?6
Why is it said that we must first teach ourselves? Well, we cannot properly teach others if we have not first taught ourselves. Paul stressed this fact in a thought-provoking passage that had import for Jews back then but that carries a serious message for Christians today. Paul asked: "Do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself? You, the one preaching ‘Do not steal,’ do you steal? You, the one saying ‘Do not commit adultery,’ do you commit adultery? You, the one expressing abhorrence of the idols, do you rob temples? You, who take pride in law, do you by your transgressing of the Law dishonor God?"—Romans 2:21-23.Are we out "teaching" Christian morality to others (lack of pride) but not demonstrating it ourselves?
I would simply ignore the apostacy issue. I would LOVE to have this material assigned.
Thanks XJ, I was just going to say I like your authority idea. Open and close with that, who has the authority Jesus. Don't mention the WT, the org, elders or anything, anywhere in the talk. Just ask questions and have them internalize it all. Only anwser one question for them so there can be no mistake, who has the authority? Jesus
Let them say that you are wrong on this.
The Jews were Jehovah’s chosen people, they had his blessings. They followed the law and listened to their religious leaders. They followed them, believed what they taught, and conducted themselves accordingly.
And every so often, a "judge" was "raised up" to smite them back to the "right path".
Or
The Jews Jehovah's Witnesses were Jehovah’s chosen people, they had his blessings. They followed the law/WTand listened to their religious leaders/eLDER's/CO's/DO's/GB. They followed them, believed what they taught, and conducted themselves accordingly.
And a "judge" is due to be "raised up" to smite them back to the "right path".
Hmmm, I think you will catch hell for this one

Thanks
its been years since I gave a talk, and, asking questions was how I got MY ideas past the org ideas.
kinda fun playing with this one.
Again... play the diarreah card, it never fails!
I found once I was enlightened that some of the talk assignments I got left me conscience-stricken, much the way you've described feeling.
My solution was to take the basic outline, put my own take on it, use the opportunity to think outside the JW box and deliver an actual bible-based talk (you know, a real one). If I supported the key points with scriptures, I figured no one could criticize me, unless they complained that I didn't follow the outline. I figured if someone called me on that, I'd just say, "Oh, you're right, I must have missed that point. I suppose I had too much material from my extensive research and just had to cut some material to fit the time."
As it turned out, no one ever called me on it.
It was Satan who first allowed an overestimation of self to corrupt his heart. (Compare Ezekiel 28:17; Proverbs 16:5.) Pride is a divisive force in the world of which he is ruler, causing people to consider themselves better than those of other races, nations, language groups, and economic status. Even those serving God may need to root out remnants of such feelings. They also need to be on guard so that pride does not cause them to make major issues of minor matters, or become a barrier to their acknowledging their own faults and accepting counsel and thus benefiting from much loving help that Jehovah provides through his organization.—Rom. 12:3; 1 Pet. 5:5.Manifesting a rebellious attitude toward authority
Rebellion began with Satan, whose name means “Resister.” By his defiance of Jehovah, Nimrod, whose name may mean “Let Us Rebel,” demonstrated that he was a child of Satan. Avoiding that spirit will prevent God-fearing persons from becoming defiant of secular rulers (Rom. 13:1); it will help minors to submit to the God-given authority of their parents (Col. 3:20); it will be a safeguard against sympathizing with apostates, who disrespect those whom Jehovah has entrusted with responsibility in his visible organization.—Jude 11; Heb. 13:17.
Let's just focus on what Satan has been doing for over 6,000 years. Basically, he's been running around loose all over heaven and earth having a blast! He gets Eve to bite into an apple and then Adam and then got a ton of friends to go along with him running amok. He's ruled every earthly government and almost every person on the face of the earth. Think about the few people that have not followed Satan...it's hard to find any! Really, who among us can truthfully say, that at one time or another we have not pulled a few devilish tricks ourselves? Besides God, there is no other entity that has received so much focus. If God didn't do it....then surely it was the work of the Devil! Who really caused the hurricane in N.O.? Some say it was God...others blame Satan! Most likely it was all the pride that the New Orleans citizens (apostates) had in their city!!! Pride (which started with Satan) will cause a city to come crashing to it's knees every time...what about earthquakes, etc.....by submitting to God's ruler-ship, these catastrophes can be avoided.
You get my drift....I'm sure you can add tons of stuff...showing what a little pride can do to the entire world!!! LOL!!!
Swalker (Hoped that helped! )
Just call them and tell them until you give them further notice, you would like to be taken off of the theocratic ministry school. If they ask why, tell them your just going through some personal things right now and need to take a "break". They don't need to know its indefinate! That's what I did. It worked. They just said....o.k. No questions asked! I was shocked, but it was that easy.
Sincerely,
L.L.
