I think more importantly the question should be , " is this really the truth" ? How many times can an organization say it's the truth and then change it later after having argued time and again that it was the truth ?

    Well...ya see it's like this....

The JWs when confronted with the reality of this question.....will dutifully say how PROUD they are that they are in such an organization that is so "willing" (gag) to admit they needed "adjustment" on any given point....and that it's equal to a badge of courage in the JWs estimation.

They have not yet come to appreciate the DEEP and very painful truth that the predictions and the YEARS of total crap the WTS taught AS truth....only changed because it had been already PROVEN to be the crap it had always been.

The nonsense of "present truths" made from "past truths" from previous "old truths"....etc, etc....only serves to show the WTS has no clue what they are talking about.....and never did.

Recognizing THAT is where the REAL courage comes in....to where you can't excuse their teachings OR their behavior for one more minute! The more time they are in operation---obviously---the more foolish they appear, and more JWs are beginning to see throught the smoke and mirrors they have believed in.

    JW lurkers---take this to heart!

    Internet---take a bow!

Watchtower, you can stuff it!---as hard as you tried---you couldn't stifle the Information Highway, could you! It has now come around to bite YOU right in the a$$!

    Your days are numbered.

"Jehovah" is ASHAMED OF YOU and Jesus doesn't KNOW YOU...... ....and NEITHER ONE is "blessing you".

you are so right sunspot the meetings are not about worship , it's about brainwashing .

That being, IF one can take an objective step back and see it for what it IS!

The poor JWs are told this IS worship----to sit and listen to endless and mind-numbing "talks" of WTS opinions, to then go and "preach to others" about!

    Oh Please

    4) The JWs boast to others about their "pure worship" but they don't actually seem TO worship at the Kingdom Halls...but they DO listen to the same talks in the same order, in the same way and hearing the same points given on how to speak properly...as in The Ministry School.

    NOT (pure) worship.

    5) And the JWs learn how to better present their literature as seen during the "Service Meeting". The JWs get sales tips, important tactics and relevant demonstrations.

    NOT (pure) worship.

... 7) A WTS "Public Talk"....is just what it states....a talk primarily geared toward the "public".. A Watchtower Representitive on a stage....telling others what the WTS beliefs are.

    NOT worship.

    8) The "Watchtower STUDY".....discusses what the Watchtower Society wants the JWs to "learn" by pre-printed questions and answers from the paragraphs in the WT magazine they already have from home and have preciously read..(and studied) in order to be "prepared" to study at the Kingdom Hall.

    NOT worship.

    9) The "Congregation Bookstudy"....just what it says. And another printed question and answer session taken from a pre-chosen book that each JW must have. NOT worship.

    10) Is this "Perpetual Indoctrination"??....or pure worship...I say NOT worship..(would YOU?)....

This bothered me a great deal for the years preceding my departure from the Org. Each time it came up, I'd put it "on the shelf." I tried not to think about the fact that we didn't really "worship" at the Hall, no matter what the FDS said about meeting attendence. Even the songs - they were mostly miniature public talks with very few qualifying as praise to God or Christ. I was never sure how to worship since the meetings were either about 1) bringing more people in, 2) what's wrong with you and the rest of the congregation, 3) the same items repeated ad nauseum. Most JWs probably look down on others' worship because they have no idea what it means, feels like, or looks like to worship.

Jehovah's Witnesses I know tell me "to worship God means to DO his will (work)". They say God has two wills and whatever the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation is printing this week, is God's current will (which would add up to three wills).

The worse the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation misses predictions and the more disconfirmations there are, the more Witnesses there are. I'd say, being wrong is very successful.

    *** w66 6/1 p. 333 par. 16 God’s Service—A Cause for Joy ***

Audible expressions of joy that come naturally from a happy heart because of something fine that has taken place in connection with Jehovah’s worship or purposes are not the same as the emotional outbursts by persons in a religious fervor. Their nonsensical shouting and wild singing are not the fruitage of God’s spirit, which, among other things, produces mildness and self-control. It is not the "apparel of the quiet and mild spirit" that a servant of God is expected to wear, but, rather, the expression of wild, uncontrolled emotions that demons find easy to manipulate. (1 Pet. 3:4) On the contrary, the audible expression of joy coming from the happy heart of God’s servants is with their power of reason and is under their control.

All deist religions use "God" as a mascot, a useful iconic authority figure or caregiver. In reality, regardless the particular brand of religion, the recipients of the energy and assets is always other people. The icon does its job in influencing people who might otherwise have not been inclined to trust. It reminds me a bit of these ads:
