(those who fornicate, get drunk, do drugs

Many do this not just worshipers of satan...jws do it too. Wait a minute...are you saying that all those who aren't jws are worshipers of satan? Oh my lord!

Yes.. if you are passionate about what you believe then you have the RIGHT to preach. It is your right and I would not care if people of Satan came to my door. People who follow Satan (those who fornicate, get drunk, do drugs and worship Satan) can talk to me anytime.

They allready came. They called themselves by another name, of course, but you have allready met them. Like wolves in sheeps clothing. In fact, you are having a Bible "study" (or indoctrination, which is what we call it in the normal world) with them.

    itsallgoodnow,

i'm with you on this one...for some reason i get the feeling that i-follow-the-narrow-path is about as real as a 49 year old cop trolling for perverts on my-space.com by pretending to be a 13 year old nymphomaniac virgin. if i am proved wrong i apologize, but only time will tell i suppose.

    i-f-t-n-p,

if these questions are in earnest, i would like to know how the person you are studying with has answered your questions...surely you asked them these things before coming to jwd to ask strangers. do you post on any other forums? please understand that this is not an attack on you or your beliefs, i would just like a clarification of these things that no one else seems to have asked.

I understand what you are saying.... and i am not going to tell you that you are wrong, because if i did that.. then id be just what the witnesses do to other people... i would never try and change you, unlike most that post here. Im beggining from the posts that you came to the wrong place.. heh... anyways, its all you... do what you feel.. what does you heart tell you? I wouldnt jump into this, like some i know that have.... its a very big ordeal diving into your own beliefs.. dont take it lightly

door to door... i love the idea.. it is the greatest thing that the witnesses are doing, but most that go door to door do not understand its importance... and its origen. Keeping time is wrong... why should we count time spent on spreading good news? Most in the congregations use it for bragging rights anyways.... "ive got 10 hours in today.. and placed five magazines".... what ever happened to focusing on the people were trying to reach? I hope you listen to you heart, for none can tell you differently... i will pray you do that

NOT all non- JWs are Worshippers of Satan. But most of them are... well let me put it a different way. Most people Do not worship Satan, but are mislead by him. Some JW are probably mislead! -- I do not post on any other forum... but whenever I can I try and tell people what I think is right. NOTE: this is not the same as JW do. Yes, I asked them all the questions I could at first. And they gave me things on the bible. After a while though... I stopped asking, because I know all of it is truth (for it is written). Well I thought this was a pro-JW site... which is why I came here. I wanted to talk to JW about the Kingdom Hall and how converting worked. But if I was lead here... there must be a reason. We have a few different churches that go door to door. I would say no dont do it, unlessyou want the door slamed in your face. I remember one holiday that they came "a knockin" looking for my father. My neice who was I think 10 at the time came and got me before I went into the shower. (she couldnt find grandpa). I went to the door in a towel and told them that we were spending the holiday with the family and please do not bother us. The look on thier faces ( 4 people came to the door) was priceless. Needless to say they have never returned.

My parents enjoy that I have found religion.. no one is opposed to it except my friends. If they don't accept what I do though... they may not be the best people to hang out with.

Why would one WANT to celebrate Christmas. JW or not... Christmas has pagan roots.... it would offend Jehovah to celebrate it

Hi and welcome, Elizabeth, from another Iowa girl

But if I was lead here... there must be a reason.

I think take this idea and embrace it. Read as much as you can in the "Best of" section. Read posters' initial posts and topics to see that many here were where you are right now, their ensuing journey to where they are now and how they got there. While you are still 'new' in the 'truth', you can ask questions; after baptism, forget it. Really -- that isn't something people here are saying to be mean, it's the truth. Any dissent after you've been baptized isn't tolerated so well; any questions will be greeted with a raised eyebrow and distrust of your motives for asking. Now that you are here, read until your clock says 3am and the monitor is swimming in your eyes. It will be worth it.

I encourage you to look up signs of a cult (google it -- that's what I did ). Read that along with the blurb on pg 202 of the Reasoning book (if you have it) under "Are JW a sect of a cult" and compare.

I hope you find some answers here.

    So are they interested too?

Actually, in the northern hemisphere a mid-winter feast and celebration makes absolutely perfect sense.

Imagine it's ancient times in Europe and you live with your family in a little house with a smoky inefficient fire (and burning dung so stinky!), the snow is thick outside, and you still have to take care of your farm animals even at the crack of dawn and even in a blizzard. You work very hard in nasty conditions. Days are getting shorter and shorter. At or around the shortest day wouldn't it be nice to have a big festivalwith your whole village to *cheer yourselves up* and remind yourself that the days will start to get longer again?

What do you think Pagan means?
