What you do can have long reaching implications for the Watchtower Society. The police need to be alerted, but I recommend that you do not over react and make the situation worse than it is.

The ideal solution for the victim is for the elders or the sister to call the police. I would recommend that you tell your girlfriend that you are legally obligated to tell the police, but would rather she did. If she or the elders do not you will have to.

I also recommend you document everything. What do the elders say and do? Are they going to act legally or will they follow Watchtower protocol. The information you find out over the next few days will teach a lot about the WTS and can possibly be used to help others know whether the Watchtower Society is learning from it past mistakes. It is by people such as yourself making a positive stand that the Watchtower Society is being made to sit up and listen and rectify their inadequate peophile policies.

Dune, I agree with what has been said - this must be reported to the authorities without delay. Ideally by the victim herself or her sister, if possible.

I have some experience in dealing with child abuse (I was a cop for 30 years). My first thought is that it would be uncommon for the father to have abused only the younger daughter.

I wonder if the elder daughter brought up the 'watching porn' topic with you in the first place as a way to introduce the abuse, or even that she was trying to pluck up the courage to tell you that she had been abused herself? That would be consistent with cases I have experience of.

Dune, don't treat yourself to an orgy of fantasy violence about "what you would do if..."

This is what you need to do - PICK UP THE PHONE, CALL THE POLICE, AND MAKE A REPORT!

How many children need to be molested so someone can "see what happens"?

MAKE something happen. BE A MAN. CALL THE POLICE.

Ok, here's my song for you. As always...

    Luka

    My name is Luka
I live on the second floor
    I live upstairs from you
Yes I think you've seen me before

If you hear something late at night
Some kind of trouble. some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was

    I think it's because I'm clumsy
I try not to talk too loud
    Maybe it's because I'm crazy
I try not to act too proud

They only hit until you cry
And after that you don't ask why
    You just don't argue anymore
    You just don't argue anymore
    You just don't argue anymore

    Yes I think I'm okay
I walked into the door again
Well, if you ask that's what I'll say
And it's not your business anyway
I guess I'd like to be alone
    With nothing broken, nothing thrown

Just don't ask me how I am
Just don't ask me how I am
Just don't ask me how I am

I think Dunes friend is may come to her senses and go herself to the police. For this to happen though, first someone must impress upon her that it is the right thing to do. That will probably have to take some convincing as is it her father she needs to tell on.

Dune, I think that that person could be you, 1)It solves the problem of you going to the police 2) the police will be informed and 3) it absolves you of your moral responsibility now that you know.
You need to make her realise she involved you in this problem when she told you so maybe she will listen to you about going to the police.

She's not telling me what the elder's are going to do and we havent spoken since yesterday afternoon.

I REALLY didnt want to call the police but i gave her an ultimatum that was she would either have to call the police by today or I would call them myself and not care whether or not she would talk to me ever again.

I know this is going to sound weird, but i keep getting this vibe that she's more angry over the fact that her dad molested her sister(as opposed to her) than the fact that the sister was molested in the first place.

Also, she's acting extremely immature and she's looking this as a test of her maturity and ability to handle these kinds of situations. Which is why she snapped at me when i told her to call the police and forget the elders.

Her mother doesnt know yet, but she's bound to find out soon enough and this may lead to a divorce and a custody battle.

Anyway, I'll try to call her later to see whats up and update tonight.

    Well done, that man!

Make sure the police DO get called, and whatever you do, don't let yourself be "got at", either by your friend or someone she calls into the situation. The police must get involved, in order for this situation to have a chance of being resolved properly. Leaving it up to the elders reduces that chance to virtually zero.

Don't wait for her to tell. You call right now and tell the police.

If she accuses you of doing it and not giving her a chance to. you can claim that it wasn't you that called the police.

    Don't wait call now.

Thanks for the update. I’ve been looking into this thread all day. It’s great you gave her an ultimatum! The best is she calls the police herself, but it’s likely she wouldn’t after talking to the elders. So even if she tells you she did call them, YOU make sure to call them anyway. I know it might not be easy, but believe it is your duty and can only confirm the urgency of the matter.

I was shocked to find out that in some cases of molestation one daughter can become jealous of the other daughter as the feeling for the farther are very confused. Maybe she has been abused in the past and now the father is more interested in the younger girl. Whatever the case, you calling the cops is the only right way to deal with this problem and it is another reason for you to take the initiative.
