Dave_T,
I agree with you. I never managed to meet the "right" jw male while I was in the org. I knew my bf when we were both jws, but we didn't get together until a few months after I'd left, and I had more than a few guilt feelings when we first started sleeping together. I still have them now, occasionally, but they are getting less and less frequent, thankfully.
I remember some of those talks too, but not being married or having any hope of getting married at the time, I tended to switch off a bit, as they didn't really refer to me at the time. I'm not married now either, just live with my bf, but we are tying the knot next year. As for the "missionary" position being the only one approved by the wts, I doubt if many married jws stuck to that rule anyway, even if they didn't admit they hadn't.

You're right: how could the elders know they didn't stick to that rule?! I love the story about you and your bf, Linda: how many people can really understand what their ex-JW spouse has been though? I'm glad for you guys.
Good point Crumpet. My wife and I were at one time zealous jw's, but missionary doesn't do it for her. If she wants pleasure we have to consider other positions. I remember this missionary position was mentioned during a public talk, we looked at each other thinking if the elders knew how we had sex what would become of us. Our attitude was stuff the society, no one has the right to dictate what we do in our own home. Enough of my private life.
Ironhead - maybe your wife and I should compare notes - hehe! All in the name of research!
Dansk - get off the sex threads! I always know where to find you lately - if you arent deceiving me into a what I think is a thread about your conversion to Allah, which turns out to be about juicy virgins then you are on another loose conduct thread!
"Juicy virgins"? Who said Islam wasn't a religion of love? (hehe). Dansk, you've made a convert out of me.
Dansk and Crumpet. I'm an ex-sailor. My wife was brought up as a witness, a virgin when we married, but she even surprised me on our wedding day. For years we used to get other couples in the hall looking at us probably thinking, " what they've got that we haven't" if only they knew.
Interestingly, in the original Hebrew, the word for “intercourse” evidently included other acts besides normal man/woman intercourse.
Really? Note the lack of a reference as to where they get that one along with the use of the word "evidently", which is a backhanded admission that nobody knows that one for sure.
Typical.

Crumpet - We have proof that Dansk is FEELING much better!
Good on ya Dansk!
Keep it up! Whoops! I didn't mean to say that!
As we know God is extremely preoccupied with sex. In fact God use so much time and resources monitoring your genitals that he simply has to ignore, poverty, hunger, natural disasters etc.
Why do you suppose He is so intrigued by human sex? He seems to be as obsessed with human sex as much as humans are, doesn't He? Maybe He is really an invention of humans, who think about it much more than a spiritual creature actually would. Maybe.
BTW, how come the article doesn't mention if it is okay or not to lean against your washing machine during the spin cycle? Is that because cleanliness is next to godliness?

I need new kitchen counters.
