I can think of a few ways that an announcement could affect some of us-for example-formal shunning of anyone who has rejected jehovah's org-even if never baptised. I have personally been waiting for that one with some trepidation. I know my mom loves me, but not quite sure if organizational loyalty trumps mother love. I could imagine (optimistically) her deciding to keep associating with me and damn the consequences. I could imagine her telling me I can go to meetings or have her dump me. . .the problem for her and MOST JWs is that they would be totally cut off from most of their family-as most JWs have 'witnessed' to everyone they love to some extent and certainly their children have been exposed.
I guess we can laugh off 'big announcements' but don't forget how some announcements have far reaching consequences. Not the ones the WT is trying to get everyone excited about, but organizational dictates do affect lives beyond the Borg.
The big announcement is going to be one of the following:
Skimmer, i think a much more realistic order of likelihood would be
1. There's no big annoucement; just a minor change in procedure or policy.
4. Removal of "inactive" as a semi acceptable status; any JW missing FS three or so consecutive months without a good excuse will be considered disassociated.
7. Dating, courtship, or marriage with an unbeliever will become grounds for disassociation.
2. The voluntary donation arrangement for literature will become somewhat less voluntary, possibly requiring JWs to purchase (and pay tax) via a captive third party corporation controlled by the WTBTS.
6. Underutilized KHs will sold (with the proceeds going to the WTBTS of course) and displaced JWs will have to travel further for meetings due to forced reassignment.
5. Internet usage, except for what is absolutely needed for work, will be banned or otherwise strictly regulated.
3. The introduction of registered giving where each JW family must pledge and contribute some amount each month; this will eventually result in formal tithing.
It must be something quite big or there wouldn't be the tract campaign
Was anything "quite big" mentioned at their last tract campaign? Or the one before that? Or the one before that...?
They really know how to take their members out for a ride and a very long ride at that, what I read in the numerous announcements about the very near end is the need to motivate a work force with a very flagging interest. The gross deception goes on assisted by the stupidity of the flock.

LOL, we sound just like them! How many times are we going to announce this BIG announcement here in the forum. Reality is there is no big announcement. Tract campaign doesn't mean a thing, there's been campaigns every year so its nothing new. Damn, most of you sound like you were probably members of the wts for only a couple of weeks not to know this. There's nothing new about this, they have always done campaigns and stressed that we are at the end of times.
I agree with others. There is rarely a big announcement with the WTS. Big announcements scare sheep.
However, as with every rule there are exceptions. One for sure was the announcement changing to the donation arrangement for the literature. In that instance elders were read a letter in advance of the announcement to the congregation. For the most part they kept the secret and the friends were surprised.
There wasn't an announcement per se but the change in the generation teaching was a big deal when that November WT came out. It rippled again as the study of the WT articles up a few months later.
Big announcement? Probably not, but it is possible. Time will tell.
The big announcement is probably just something like, 'It's October, brothers you know what that MAY mean, keep vigilant in your meeting attendance and don't forget to turn in your time slips! It may be the last time slip you turn in, make it a good one!"
But even if they announced that Armageddon was tomorrow, i would STILL stand proud in my stand against this disgusting, filthy organisation.
Me too! Especially since it would mean their destruction. If us lowly humans are disgusted with their hypocricy, how would God feel?
Will the GB taste any different to those carion birds? I think not!
