I couldn't stand those guys when they are parading but once "fallen" I have nothing but sympathy for them.

Hypocrisy is the cement of society. Suppress it and everything crumbles -- governments, political parties, religions, clubs, families and friendships. We don't want people, especially models and leaders, to be really honest.

Any "hypocrite unmasked" opens a crack of light which threatens the whole building. Everybody runs and plasters it by blaming the hypocrite. The show must go on.

Why put yourself up on a pedestal as a moral man that can condemn others, who has the power to get 100,000's of people to follow his commands??? Who's judging who? Now, when it comes time for him to be analyzed for his behavior, it's a sin? Damn! You just can't win.

Hypocracy really is the greatest crime, isn't it?

How do you adjudge a situation where others put someone on a pedestal, rather than them putting themselves on a pedestal, however? The disillusionment is just as shattering. I think we like the mystique that goes along with thinking that someone achieves the absolute best moral standing, which taking a perverse pleasure out of seeing them fall. Is it hypocrasy to simply not reveal your own depravity of soul, when others think better of you? Is it incumbent on us to dispel the myth?

In a tangible sense he's potentially gay and likes to dabble with the occasional escapism of meth. If it weren't for his intangible (and now evaporated) status, it wouldn't even be newsworthy. What precisely about this story is so exciting, for surely that's exactly what it is?

Everyone likes being able to point a finger at everyone but themselves.
