I stopped reading the attack on you when the aforementioned poster started off by slagging off your spelling,diction etc.It was condescending to say the least from a poster who i usually enjoy reading.
seems a bit daft to leave the forum though.

Do you remember, on the playground at school. There was always a few bullies who elevated their own self-worth through pain and injury to others. Intimidation and attack were the only tools they had to use in such elevation, lacking honest and redeemable social skills.
What would you say to the injured child who then refused to go back to school? That is the spirit of what many of us here wish to convey to you. Not likening you to a child mind you, just in illustrative prose.
One of the posters you mentioned spent an entire day 'debunking' my foolish acceptance of God and life outside of the carnel present. I was angry, and have since avoided comment back to him, taking the position that my pearls of thought are mine, and if I wish them to remain untrampled, I shall not cast them in his disrespectful direction any longer. His 'screen name' gets no attention from me, and perhaps mine from him. No loss.
Please come back on the playground - for we are not all bullies here.

Steve, FunkyD took a chunk out of me once. It was early on and I was shocked at the personal barbs that were thrown. In the end a wise guy (Ballistic) said to me that FD comes across differently in print then in person .. as he has met him in real time at one of the BBQ's and to take it in stride. B-man mentioned that his feelings had also been hurt over certain discussions and he found that he would rather stay on the lighter side of discussions in order to avoid any hurt feelings either way (as the giver or the taker) so he generally does not engage in the more heated threads.
This is what I found, of the one or two people that we may clash with (and it is only natural that it will happen), that it is not worth the loss of a whole heap of others who emotionally hold us up in times of trial.
Come on, you're an Aussie, you guys have a wicked sense of humor. Those Irish (FunkyD) are caustic and have a dry wit. Chalk it up to difference of opinions and know that you are not the only one FunkyD has put pins to. So maybe we should form a club or something. Or alternatively, we can just stay where we are at and continue in our every day ordinary course of life.
Your last line says it all...its like leaving friends. Friends understand, and friends argue and friends make up.. Then they argue again. That's part of what makes them friends.

Steve don't leave it was a discussion some agree some don't I certainly wasn't offended by anything you said and as for grammer I am a terrible typist and if I don't proofread my stuff it sounds really dumb and a lot looks misspelled. So hang in there chum and keep the comments coming. It would be boring if everybody agreed with everything. So keep your opinions and share them. You learn too. For example on a thread about OJ for a long long time I truley thought he was innocent and framed, boy did I get a lashing and then Mary pointed out some facts I was unaware of so I learned and changed my opinion. That is what discussion is all about. So hang in there and lets all learn from each other. FunkyD is a funny guy and a unique sense of humor.

i've been online for years and posted on message boards for years.. you will always clash with someone. don't let it get to you so badly. avoid/ignore people that try to hurt your feelings and spend more time talking to the ones that build you up!
Steve don't leave. I have been called stupid and I am full of -------. I can't remember all the names.. You have as much right to be here as anyone else. You have to feel pity for people who have to call names to get a point across.
