Whoa! I'm going to go find that Watchtower in my wifes stuff now. I told her 2 years ago that this would be the next New Light because they know Armageddon won't come in time to save them from their doctrines. Therefore the doctrines must change. I don't see how they are going patch all the problems that creates. All the scriptures and doctrines they used to prove that the chosen ones would be on earth at armageddon will now have to take on other meanings.
Just What Is The WT Up To Now?

Does anyone have a scan of that Jan 2007 WT so we can read the "new light". I told my hubby about this developement and he is going to ask for a copy tomarrow from the old guy who passes them out at the train station. He sees him every day. I told him to ask specifically for the Jan issue if he even has it yet. But, not to tell the guy why he wants one. I told him just say he heard it had some interesting information in it. Lilly

Here is the quote,
" Will all the annointed recieve their heavenly reward before the war of Armageddon? We do not know."
Well, saying you don't know if they will all be dead and in heaven before Armageddon means you do not believe it is "necessary" that they alive on earth at Armageddon. Therefore what you said is true. This does undo any doctrines that stated they 'will be alive thru Armageddon and recieve their heavenly reward shortly thereafter'.
It certainly makes it easier now to say they will all be dead before Armageddon, that is once they get new light.
I'll have to look into how recently they said the annointed would be alive after Armageddon. I'll also have to look into which doctrines will be messed up if they switch to stating the annointed will all be dead.

What about the two guys that were appointed to the Governing Body. Both round 55 yrs old, which means they were born about 1951. Yet they claimed to be "anointed" ones.

Woodsman,
Thanks for looking that up for us. I think it is all a numbers game with the WT as usual. I am sure people are asking why the number of the "anointed" has stayed basically the same for a decade now and the WT realizes that to keep people droning along, they need to see Something, Anything really that would signify that the end will be as close as the WT keeps saying.
In my opinion, they HAVE to get those numbers down a fairly good amount and if that means kicking out some of the professed heavenly heirs then I believe they will do that. They can then tell the congregation that the reason the numbers were not going down is that some professed "anointed" were wrong or were just trying to decieve others. Or that they professed this hope due to haughtiness but Jehovah took care of the situation. If the congregation sees a drop, this may give them a shot in the arm too keep moving along. You know full well the congregation will agree with whatever Brooklyn tells them and will accept it as a plausible explanation.
I don't think they realized that by changing the "this generation" teaching, it would later affect their numbers. Their numbers should have been going down significantly due to the death rate but has not done this to keep in pace with their change in doctrine. And it is getting harder for the tower to keep lying to people. Lilly

Wow, Lil, thanks for bringing this up... and quite interesting about your letter (seems you're better at predicting things than the WT, tee hee!)
Cheers,

Thanks Baba,
I knew when I was in that the elders would look at those who claimed to be heavenly with skepticism. Many I knew realized that Christians go to heaven to be with Christ long before they announced that it was their hope because they were afraid of how the elders would react. In my last congregation there were several of us who used to partake at home after the memorial at the kh. Now, they are worse about it because their numbers are not jiving and people are finally waking up and noticing so they have to push them out faster.
This reminds me of Rutherfords campaign in his day. To set up his two classes of Christians, he had to bully those who claimed they were heavenly Christians into changing their minds. He did this by harrassing them and constantly telling them they had to be wrong. And the new ones coming in to the organization would automatically be indoctrinated to believe that they would be staying on earth. And that the elect Christians in heaven would rule over them. They misunderstand the little flock and other sheep teachings. Or, maybe Rutherford did understand it but wanted to set up his hierarchy in spite of this. Lilly

megsmomma,
Ha, ha, if you only KNEW how funny that is!
Let me let you in on a secret. When I left the org and due to my letter sent out here to several congregations, I was labeled as the BIGGEST thats right BIGGEST Apostate of all times for this area. Two congregations gave talks about me warning the friends about my demonic influencing and they were told not to even LOOK my way. My friends told me about it and BOY do I WISH they had tape recorded it.
Anyway, amongst my great sins was that it was told to the congregations, who KNEW full well they were talking about me, that I was..............you got it.........STARTING MY OWN RELIGION. I just had the best laugh when you posted your last post. I think I am among the same rank of Apostate as Mouthy, but am not sure.
People here fall over themselves trying to get out of the way fast enough when they see me in the local Walmart. It is sooo funny really. They are probably more afraid of me - a 5 foot tall, small build, bible reading, heavenly bound Chistian woman than they are of Satan the Devil himself! Or, at least I can give Satan a good run for his money. Thanks for the laugh. Lilly

Wow......that is too funny! I guess I should wear my new APOSTATE label proud then! I wonder how long it will be till I get to start my own religion?! I need some pointers Lil!
The WTBTS was so smart in giving out the apostate label, weren't they? It makes everyone immediatley scared of you and also gives them the right to feel great hatred for you.
Well...let it be known I am joining you and mouthy's church!
