The problem is how to end suffering. What you learn from suffering does not end it. What you ascribe to god about suffering does not end it. How to end it is the problem. Siddhartha Gautama , know as the Buddha ("AWAKENED") , claims to have solved the problem of how to end suffering. Why not find out how Siddhartha did it ?

Chronic pain defeats all purpose.
Or, that which haunts us most, may be a doorway.
I know there are some posters on here who have been through such experiences. How do you continue to make sense of it all? It has shaken all my beliefs to their very foundations. I do believe in God, but would certainly like to know his answer.
If you insist of believing in God, then for god sakes stop believing It is something so diminutive and small as to not be present within your own true being.
I feel the only hope lies in things that are totally out of our experience-outside of time, space and physical limitations.
Correct, the answer lies just outside the story of all that you believe your time and space "self" to be. In other words: it's closer; and always here in the present moment rather than in the minds illusory past and future.
Step out of the grand drama of the mind. Be absolutely and silently nonjudgmentally present with the pain. See and feel the heat of pain, and then note that which silently and gently witness and meets with the pain. Is it in pain? Which is closer, the pain, or the silent and oh so gently loving presence?
Yes, there is pain; but you are not the pain. Pain only passes like a ripple across the unmoving pristine pool of You. Allow the pain to move to the background; and allow the silent purity of conscious awareness to be forefront. Step out of the story, and into Reality. Be very kind, and very patient with all this. Wonderful discovery and realization can happen instantly or it may seem to take time. Everything you need, you have.
Trust, that the end of suffering is present, now, within you. Because, it is.

Why cant God stop the suffering?
Have you ever stopped to consider MAYBE HE CANT!!!!!
Really, maybe he cant! Here we have been complaining for thousands of years about it and all the while He cant undo anything that goes on.
WE HAVE TO CARE FOR EACH OTHER AND THE EARTH! -

Choosing Life,
I struggled with this issue for some time. I am in the process of developing a good explanation for someone in a private e-mail. When I am donw, and have any counter points from that person worked out, I will post it on JWD. I do think there is a good and reasonable explanation that goes far beyond anything the WTS could ever develop. Thier view that God is allowing human to experiment with self-governance sounds plausible until they add in that everything is controlled by Satan. Then it falls flat, because humans then have never really had their own unique opportunity to self-govern because Satan really runs the show. The WTS view is a load of BS. But, there is another way to view it ... and I will get around to posting it.

I know there may not be an answer to this question, but I am truly interested in other's views. I know many are of various beliefs and some do not believe in God at all.
The question is: Why Does God Not Stop The Suffering? I watch so many suffer for no reason and no matter how I try to figure it out, I always come back to the fact that a loving parent would not allow their child to suffer needlessly. So why does God?
I don't believe that anyone deserves years of intense pain and this is what many experience. What is the point? The dub explanation leaves me feeling empty and does not make me feel good about Jehovah. This is really the main reason I started to question their doctrines, because they couldn't shed any light on the most fundemental of realities.
How do you reconcile suffering with a loving God. Or do you?
The Almighty Father lovingly gave all creation a chance to choose. They chose evil in like manner to satan. All people upon the earth did not choose to be evil but chose the love of their Heavenly Father. They will be raised in the Kingdom first whereas the unrighteous will be left out until they fully repent. The righteous will be raised in love and the unrighteous will be raised in discipline.
You cannot force a living being to love you. The Almighty God cannot force all creation to accept His Laws in Perfection. All have the right to choose but only for a period of time. The Heavenly Father suffers in like manner to those upon the earth. This in the same manner as the parents of all human offspring suffer when their children are in pain. The slave is not greater than The Master as Jesus Christ taught. There is no way you can love your offspring more than Your Heavenly Father Loves You....... -

The Law of the first fruits applies in all things righteous and unrighteous. Satan was one that existed in the beginning with The Almighty God. He and those like him rebelled when they were allowed to roam freely.(Job 1:6) They were allowed the chance to choose good or evil also. They caused pain and suffering to come upon those on the earth. Those upon the earth were also allowed to be tested with the chance to choose good or evil. Many chose evil and so have many today still living. The Father went away for a period of time but has returned.......

Choosinglife, that is THE question, isn't it? And the answer, if there is an authentic one from God, would have to be pretty breath-taking and not shallow. Something epic, I think.
I wrote at length on this on a post long ago (thankfully not an epic)... and I spent much more time trying to find it than to just rehash it! But I did find it , and here's the link to the whole thread for context.

I must add here that I'd never heard of the 'competition between Satan and God' reason as the justification of suffering before coming to this board. Personally, I don't buy it.

Lest we forget who we are asking to end suffering.
"And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." 1 Samuel 6:19
"And they warred against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.... And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? .... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." Numbers 31
And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them." Jeremiah 13:14
"Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up." Hosea 13:16
" Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." ps 137:9
"Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces." mal 2:3

The Bible has made this a question for you and there is no satisfactory answer in the Bible for it. If God can't stop an asteroid from hitting the earth and destroying the planet's life, then what makes us think he can do anything about the small stuff, like world peace, global climate change, famine and pestilence?
