Your Feelings On Getting Reinstated For Family Considerations

Needless to say - all the very best to Gumby - a big JWD favourite of mine. What intrigues me is the issue we often talk about, that of monitoring of this site by the Borg. If you're so bad for reading apostate literature then what does it make you if you actually write it!? Surely if we are being spied on then how on earth could Gumby be reinstated? They must know who he is, where his Cong is and what he's said about them in the past?
Now that he's been reinstated, I don't think the elders can say much about his past. Even if they had an inkling, they just wouldn't want him up on the platform advocating rebellion against the borg, or conversing "negatively" with others. They may spread the "marking" garbage about him, but if he's done this for family, what does it matter to the gumster? After all, the only thing that matters to him is his family's happiness.

Well everyone's be happy to know I got a message from Gum-faker this morning. He left the Thursday night meeting half way through and missed the Bookstudy this morning too! Geeze, talk about a lack of appreciation for the spiritual food provided by the Brainless and Incontinent Slave Class.....tsk, tsk, tsk.
I think he's going to do a thread on here shortly as he'd like to get others' input on a few things.

Mary is charging me 30 dollars and hour to keep everyone posted about my life but I hate to tell the old gal I just found someone who's gonna only charge me minimum wage and give me a damn break........she's hearless I tell ya.
Hey folks, I haven't got time now, but I'll do a thread on all this soon as I need some advice on how to go about some things......such as how to get outta field service when they ask me......so put your thinkin caps on for me and have me some answers. I'm well liked in the hall and was a bit popular at one time so it ain't gonna be easy and I don't want to be too obvious that I'm pulling everyones chain in coming back.
Thanks Mary for helping me out here

Hi little brother!!
I'll be getting my leaky brain cells together to try to help you out. Hang in there; we're all here for you and I know we'll come up w/some rather unique and absurd ideas.
Love,
Juni (your big sis)

Gummeister, regarding service, go. Go out on break for an hour, arrange going on RVs and most won't be home anyway. Visit the elderly (while out in service), check on the sickly ones. Intersperse your "ministry" with other things. Do this for an hr. and a half per every 2 weeks. Make service a social thing like the elders generally do. After visiting everyone you want, tell people your back hurts, you've got migraines, you're depressed, you're ultra nervous---any bull and within a few months don't go out again. Let's face it, you gotta keep up appearances for at least a while----until YOU can't take it anymore. You don't want to show everyone that you were just trying to get reinstated (looks bad).

Minimus, funny you should be the one to start this thread as I was going to contact you about this mess I'm in.
Your idea about me going out in service would break a promise I made myself about something I said I would NEVER do.......but it might be in my best intrest to do so if it would be in my best intrest to do so.......at least for a short time.
The P.O. in my hall thinks the world of me and fondly remembers us two going in the ministry together and has brought it up several times already as he keeps saying..."when your knee gets better, you and I will have to work together again as I loved the last time we worked together". I love this man and don't have a clue on how to repeatedly get out of turning him down. Your idea might be one I'll have to do my friend. Hey...I already placed a "reasoning book" with my neighbor! Actually, he knows my story and I placed it with him so he could compare the witness religion with others as he's appauled by them and their past treatment of me.......so me's got in about 45 minutes and placed one book so far.......yee haw!!!!!.....am I pioneer material or what?
I gotta run but I promise I'll do a thread on all this fiasco.

Your neighbor is a god send Gumbster! Just keep making return visits on him (by yourself- ya know the incidental witnessing) rack up yer 10 hrs. and yer done for the month. yeee hawww!
Maybe you could do something in exchange for his time? Like water his grass/flowers? Take him out to lunch?
Just a suggestion.

I ever catch you going out in Service and you are DEAD stretchy, green meat............Do not go out even once, or there will be no turning back. I don't care how many times someone asks you out. You tell them that you're not feeling well, or that you just don't feel comfortable "yet" going out but you'll let them know when you do.
I need some advice on how to go about some things......such as how to get outta field service when they ask me......
The idea is not how to fake Service, but how to avoid going out in the first place. Minimus, I can't believe you actually are suggesting that he go out. He told his family he wouldn't ever go out and they were fine with that. If he starts going out, then they're going to think that "he's back" and it'll be even harder for him to do The Fade. This is exactly what they're hoping for: that he'll start going out in Service, then they'll be bugging him to join the Ministry School.........His sole purpose in getting reinstated is so he can have association with his family------not to be popular in the congregation. Going out in Service is the worst thing he could possibly do.

Since you're just reinstated they aren't going to let you do talks as you'll be on restrictions. As for Service, why don't ya let the ole codger take you on a few calls? He'll be happy that you're out and he has some company coz noone goes out with him accounting for his advanced halitosis, and you can count it as penance (even if you use noseplugs). You can also count time without saying a word. You can just ride around in someone else's car and drink coffee for an hour, before heading home
