Does The Memorial Mean ANYTHING To You???

    It means:

    - Something I used to attend, because I thought the God of Israel would be VERY displeased if I didn't.

    - The biggest day of the year for Jehovah's Witnesses. It's a big non-event to pump up their membership figures and to try to convince current JW's of the "potential" for growth there still is.

    - It is a further disproof of the 'little flock' teaching, because the number of partakers at each year's Memorial should decrease (according to Watchtower teaching). However, it has been holding steady for the past decade or two. So when they spend the first half of the Memorial talk telling how special the 'little flock' is (so that nobody drinks the wine), they're talking mumbo-jumbo.

    - A chance for the 'in crowd' of the congregation to go out together afterwards, once the Memorial is FINALLY done.

exactly Gopher & I think the in crowd likes the get together's afterwards more than anything.....LOL!!!

    CD.

well when I was a witness it meant a big after party with TONS of desserts. Now, I'm not even sure what day the memorial is, so it doesn't mean much.

I've messed over 20 memorials now, and I was just invited today by my mother. I told her I will not contribute to watchtower statisics. They ruin every single hoiliday of the year and taint the only one they invite you to by bashing you the rest of the year. They can kiss my ass! It means nothing. They are lost and have nullified the lords commands by their traditions.

    no show for me too.

    i agree with you minimus

To those that believe they should go because it's a command-----Jesus was talking to the partakers----not just observers. So if you go because you believe you're supposed to, realize that you must partake, too. (Plus, no one can judge you now).

    Yes,

as others on this thread stated, at home,

    tonight, with family and friends.

We will also partake, as Christ told us to.

At least when the Jews celebrate Passover, they get to eat and drink all together!

It means a lot to me. My church has communion the first Sunday of every month. So yesterday we had communion. We all partake because Jesus said to. Its a reminder that he shed his blood for my sins and set me free. I go to a church who teaches the truth written in the Bible about God the father God the son and God the Holy Spirit Its so different then what those men in Brooklyn teach and there is Christian love among us.My daughter has a ministry where she goes to nursing homes I go when I can She doesn't go in and ask Are you christian we try to do for everyone whether they are JWS . mormon etc. Christ loved everyone. In fact there is one JW there and she tried the shunning but JWS don't come to do much for anyone. So she asked my daughter to bring her some tropical mix. Once she asked my daughter what she was doing there and my daughter said doing the Lords work showing Love. So many of these people in nursing homes have no one that comes to visit them. It brings them so much joy and cards mean so much to them.
