Witnesses dress up in new clothes and leather shoes and drive their Cadillacs and Lincolns to the Hall for the anniversary of the last supper because they say they are to follow Jesus' command . . . but Jesus also said: "Sell everything you have. Give the money to the poor" but the Witnesses don't follow that command. Why?

I played the piano at my hall and have some lyrics stuck in my head. Here is part of the lyrics for "The Lord's Evening Meal" song 87, for your enjoyment (??)

    Jehovah we're gathered before you
As sheep of your pasture we came
To praise the great love that brought Christ from above
And honor his most holy name

    Let's keep this Memorial occasion
Fixed firmly in heart and in mind
Thus we'll walk every day as Christ showed us the way
And then life everlasting we'll find

After giving 13 consecutive memorial talks at 3 different congos it probably should mean something to me!!! But it dosn't anymore. The hypocricy of the event and the organization superceeds any good it ever did in my life. So tonight I'm going to have a glass of wine and eat a slice of bread.......unleavened of coarse (maybe not!!!) and watch the Florida kick Ohio States behind in the championship game. This will be the 3rd memorial I've missed!!! Starting a new streak. My best to all.

I enjoyed taking communion with the people at the church down the street from me . At least it felt like I was really giving honor to Jesus instead of watching it all go by on a plate .

Yep. It means missing 24. As far as anything else to me --no. I went for a few years after my DFing, mostly out of habit, I think, and because my parents seemed to feel better when I went. Then, about 8 years ago, I said the heck with all that silliness. Mom asked me about it and I asked her why in the world I should go somewhere and sit in the back like a pariah, and no one can say "hi" or even make eye contact for that matter? She seemed to understand and never mentioned it again. I know if Dad were still alive though he would be hounding me every year.

I've messed over 20 memorials now, and I was just invited today by my mother. I told her I will not contribute to watchtower statisics. They ruin every single hoiliday of the year and taint the only one they invite you to by bashing you the rest of the year. They can kiss my ass! It means nothing. They are lost and have nullified the lords commands by their traditions.

lol... ditto. You're pretty smart for someone who is only 40. Jean

The memorial means that we still live in a world where people can use mind-control tactics without fear of legal repercussions.
