Now that I am no fear of any god, I would if I thought it would WORK, but I have major doubts that it would. I did have my tea leaves done once and it showed 3 dancing children. . .I have three kids, but hey, I think it is a coincidence:) I will check into the catholic voodoo since we are selling our house in a couple of weeks! Sirona I have a question borne from ignorance: where does the concept of 'karma' (reaping what you sow in Christianity) fit in with witchcraft? Or is that part of seeing omens?

I'd be tempted to use witchcraft if I could use Harry Potter's wand. Love to get rid of dementors.

I won't deign to answer for Sirona, but I'll answer for me. The eastern concept of Karma was ported into the occult community sometime late 19th, early 20th century. (HP Blavatsky (crackpot!), etc.) Many occultists today take the concept of karma for granted, especially those most involved with neo-paganism, Wicca, etc.

I for one have seen very little evidence for it other than your normal cause/effect, and certainly not across so-called "past lives". For my part, I believe it to be another way of happy-making for religionists scared of facing reality, much like concepts of heaven, etc.

Sure I would, if I had any reason to beleive it would work and that I wasn't just wasting time and money.

But I don't believe in the paranormal or supernatural. Even if I did I don't understand why the heck these otherworldly beings have nothing better to do for eternity than make you lucky, or help you perform cheep parlor tricks.

Hi Sirona...I have read some books on Wicca, although not extensively, and I like the idea of being at peace and in unity with nature, and have wondered exactly what the significance of being woke up in the middle of the night, 2 winters in a row, from the hooting of an owl, just outside my bedroom window, really means. (Other than the fact he is looking for food in my driveway) LOL

I do believe in the spirit world, that we are somehow connected, also that there is a difference between spirits, ghosts and demons, but I have no desire to speak with them, or see them. I have heard one call my name, once, and that freaked me out enough....My son has seen the face of an old man, in his bedroom, only once also, thank goodness....it really scared him too. And we have witnessed the phone in our hallway being smashed to the ground when we had friends over. That's the most violent it has ever gotten. Our friends packed up their baby and rushed out of here that night, never to come back.....

We hear them in our house making noises, but we have become used to them, so I really don''t want to rock the boat and delve any deeper. This is plenty enough for me. But I will admit, I find witchcraft intriguing, and I respect those who practise it. Maybe it's because I don't fully understand things, so therefore I am still in fear, if you will, of opening doors that cannot be closed....kind of a left-over JW mentality thingy....I dunno.

But I do find it interesting, and love to hear other people's experiences and stories. Do you have any ideas about this owl thing, Sirona?

after reading a bit about magic and witchcraft i was suprised at how similar christian religious practices are to magic.

would i use it? if i were educated enough to maybe. after leaving the jw's i'm beaten down so anything that promotes self growth is of interest to me.

so i think it's satanic? no , not since seeing how much regular religion uses some of the same practices. its just another religion. i'm of the mind that if i ever choose a religion it will be of benefit to ME NOW not in some vague afterlife promise.

    Would you ever use witchcraft?

    No, I prefer Ceremonial Magick.

Do you think witchcraft is dangerous?

If done right, yes. LOL! Actually, the more serious the working is, the more pitfalls and possible dangers you encounter. If you're not risking something, then why practice magick at all? I mean, you can practice a pagan religion without practicing any sort of magick.

Do you think witchcraft is just a set of delusions based on ancient superstition?

No more than anything else is.

Is witchcraft a tool of the devil?

The devil (that energy anyway) is a tool of witchcraft. Though most pagans, etc. will tell you that they don't believe in Satan, the energy, the characteristics if you prefer, of that entity are certainly put to use (Pan, as one example).

What do you think of witches and witchcraft?

You don't really want to know. Let's just say that I get along with very, very few, unless they've progressed a certain measure along their path. (For example, if they have held to the "An' it harm none", once they've been able to question that requirement rather than dogmatically holding to it, may we really begin to speak.) I mean this in no patronizing way, I simply state it as an observation.

I think in the forum that the question was posed and for a general audience, CM can be considered "witchcraft".

You get along with some "witches", now donchya, baby.

    To Sirona's question.

Witchcraft: Yes (it would take volumes to explain how, why, and what precepts I use it for but for a general audience, a simple "yes" will suffice)

The power of Magick: Absolutely do I believe in it (again, volumes to explain that I believe it is within and without)

The Danger of Magick: Absolutely. As dangerous as negative thinking. As powerful as positive thinking. And those, that is, the human mind and it's intentions and energy and essence is very very powerful and very very potentially dangerous (see world around you).

Magick, imo is this "force" it is there. it is here. It is our birthright. It is neither "black" nor "white" the intentions we alchemize it with lend it it's potential for good or "ill". And I believe we all practice magick to some degree. Some of the most powerful magicians I've ever come across had no clue what they were doing....but they were the most formidable/powerful people I've ever come across in my life. Whereas some of the people that have ingested book after book on magick practice are innately weak and ultimately impotent (afraid of their own power). Now when I come across that rare bird that not only knows what magick is but also wields it and owns their power....I am in utter awe. That's kinda how DS and I started hehehe

*crosses arms and stomps* No! I will not have eeet!

Yes, baby, you're my very, very favorite witchy woman. But you're very different from any witch I've known. You are much, much more an Elphaba than a Glinda. Rowr!!
