What is the REAL issue behind your question?
Warlock
the real question is: how many JW would follow the WTS if they would say: "lets kill a politician to get the last days rolling! -[insert random relevation verse]"
i BET there would THOUSANDS if the WTS would do it properly. if not millions...
its the question: "What would the society need to do to convince you that she isnt gods organisation?"
false propheties, false teachings and human laws dont do it. what would do it?
a elder in a congregation my mother was in in the 1960s one time ordered the congregation members to bring a bucket and a handmirror to the next gathering. AND MOST OF THEM DID IT! he was disassociated sometime later, but it proves one time more that most JW are brainless zombies.
double post... sorry...
triple post... im so sorry...
yes I would. I joined the army when I was 19 and if told to go to war and kill people then I would have done so; I don't understand the squeamishness some people have about the concept of killing people, I can think of several circumstances where I would do so without a second thought.
Someone mentioned that no one has the legal authority to call for killing. This simply isn't true. Consider military personel.
Here's my quesion for those who claim they won't kill. If you had the opportunity to kill Osama Bin Laden, and if the government told you to do so, would you? If you wouldn't, what if you witnessed him directing another 9/11 attack and had the chance to stop it by killing him, would you? Seems to me in this case if you say no, you'd have some explaining to do to the whole world.

I concur, exceot i was 22 when i joined and am still in the service. just because you cant, wont, or dont want to doesnt mean that you have to try an make those who do to be somekind of horrible people. in you other posts you have made, it is clear that you disagree witht the war and the military. get over it dude, people die, its a part of life. and how many people died because they thought god wanted christianity spread throughout the world? how many people would kill islamists if the pope said to?
Hump,
it is clear that you disagree witht the war and the military. get over it dude, people die, its a part of life. and how many people died because they thought god wanted christianity spread throughout the world? how many people would kill islamists if the pope said to?
Interesting rationalization. I'm not trying to make anyone a bad guy btw, just make them think a little.
Satan,

Did you alway feel this way, or was it after you joined the army you felt this way?
I've always felt this way, I was only in the army for a very short time before getting an injury and a medical discharge. My point in sharing that I joined the army was that I fully realised that I could well be ordered to go into situations where I had to kill, and I never had a problem with that.
People die, it's a natural process and is nothing to be afraid of. Some people deserve to die now, why be afraid to help them on their way? I understand that some people have an ethical problem with ending life, I don't.
If someone threatened myself or anyone dear to me then they wouldn't get a second opportunity.
