Tryptamine Hallucinogens and Consciousness - T. McKenna
hey frankie!
sorry about never getting back to you. i left the thread for a while.
man, i have never partook of the sacrament you mention. but wow, i would love to talk with you about it. i have been reading about trip experiences and what researchers believe is going on in the brain of a person who chooses to bathe his/her calcified pineal in more DMT, LOL. i am pretty sure i will partake sometime in the near future. i was going to go the mimosa hostilis root bark route.
ego death. yes. or like i call it: rapid ego minimization. lsd showed me that it was a path i could take in life by stripping me of the weight for a period of time (among other things). and of course, now i work towards it without the aid of lsd. terrence mckenna has also detailed some of the correlations between lsd experience and mahayana buddhism. it's still all hard for me to put into words, since as you know, the experiences come from a place that is languageless.
i know that DMT, while classified as a psychedelic experience, is going to be qualitatively different than lsd. but i look forward to it. or perhaps backwards to it?
some people say that i have "changed" since i partook of these other sacraments (lsd, ganja etc). when i question them further as to what they mean, they usually admit that it's not that i became a "bad" person. but just that i'm "different", perhaps not as "normal".
and that i am so very grateful for.
becoming,
tetra
