just posting so I can bookmark this thread for future research.

love all the links and I am reading "Marriage of the Sun and Moon" right now at someone's suggestion on this thread. awesome book.

not sure I'm ready to share my experiences yet, not even sure if I can put them into words. they are beautiful and something I would never trade. After having even a few trips I could totally understand why dubs and other authoritarian organizations would forbid such a thing. it releases fear. something that they cannot survive without.

I always stayed away from drugs. On occasion I have smoked pot.

My first wife died from using cocaine. It weakened her heart and she had a major coronay at 28 years old.

My stepdaughter got involved with heroine at the age of 20 and now has Hepititis.

My sister 32 is addicted to drugs and she has lost her two children to the welfare system. Ages 5 and 7. She too will die soon.

My point is this. Are they really any good for you? REALLY?

I am sorry for your losses DJK. Truly.

If I'm understanding this thread, there is a difference between cocaine, meth, heroin, etc. and natural, organic hallucinogens like mushrooms and ayahuasca.

I for one am glad that the subject is being discussed here on JWD.

Again, I'm sorry for the personal tragedy you have suffered due to drug abuse and addiction in your family.

    (((DJK)))

I too have lost loved ones to drugs. They destroyed their lives and those that loved them.

I do think nvrgnbk is right when he says this thread and the accompanying links to videos are discussing the MAJOR differences in the different types of *drugs* out there.

I also think we as a society have never been taught the proper RESPECT for these powerful tools and therefore we see major ABUSE of their power.

The only drugs i ever have done is pot.

But i have to say that i have had a psychedelic experience almost three years ago but was by accident when i had my son i was given(laughing) gas for pain relief after i had him i had to be sutured up and while they did this i was still sucking on the gas and they didn't realise that they had left it up so high, i was laying back trying not to think of the pain but then all of a sudden i went into this state of mind where i was seeing flashes of colour and i must of went really out of it as i was coming back down i start remembering that i was in hospital but the last thing that i could remember was leaving to go to the hospital and i was so physically upset when i was coming out that they had to stop what thye were doing and console me i thought i had lost the baby but was unable to tell them as i was sobbing so much.

I felt like such a fool!

So never again i will do that ( wont be having anymore kids).

    Interesting thread

I did a small amount of pot at school and that's it. I have an addictive type of personality and wouldn't try them for the fact I probably won't stop...

Personally, life is full of eventful experiences without mind altering drugs. The best relaxing "drugs" are those provide by human own body, chi, sex, calmness, focus, ok coffee would be the only exception to that :)
