Exactly, It would only be for the purpose of informing the householder of the dangers of the WT Cult, not promoting any other religion, or soliciting any funds.

Another good thing about this, is the householder may have family who have just recently joined, and they are looking for help and tips to dealing with this.

Exactly, that is illegal, dont leave anything in mailboxes, however what about those plastic newspaper boxes that fit right below mailboxes? - Junction-Guy While I do not specifically know what the law is on that particular point, I have always worked under the assumption that those boxes are the property of the newspaper or the homeowner, and treat them the same was as mailboxes-off limits. It's something of an annoyance when I work with teams of people, those boxes are usually right at the street, and much easier to reach than going to the house door, so people naturally tend to be lazy and want to put marketing material in them-I once had to take a team back to a street that was already covered, and make them do it all over.

Plus, it's cool to tell people about something you know alot about. Heaven's knows there's precious little I know alot about. So, I would be delighted to tell people what I know, I'm always looking for ways to bring up WT ology anyways. It's difficult "soo, speaking of changing your oil...how about that 1914 date those crazy JW's are always talking about??" slaps my knee and shakes my head while they look confused.

Yeah it would be easier, but I would enjoy the actual personal contact. Half of the fun is being able to give my personal experience to people.

I think people will appreciate the personal experiences. Especially knowing that someone who used to come to peoples door as a JW preaching kingdom is now out there warning people against them. Personal experiences make everything much more relatable I think than just the bare facts!

If you want to go door to door, I would recommend the following: Obtain a copy of the latest WT & Awake ragazines---the ones that the Dubs will be placing at the door. Then do a flyer up outlining the inconsistencies, lies or cover up complete with references and drop them off in people's mailboxes. Don't even bother ringing the doorbell. That way, when the Witnesses show up, the householder would be more aware than before of some of the lies that they're being fed (that's assuming they even give a rat's ass about whats being written in these magazines).

I agree, you don't want to come across as creepy or invasive (btw it's not illegal to do a letterbox run in Oz). Even something like a regular classified in the local paper would attract a lot of negative publicity for them.

It is legal to leave things in paperboxes just not mailboxes. I do this on a semi-regular basis. My neighbor had a visit from the jw's once and I went over with a 'cease & desist' letter for her to send, gave a quick antiwitness and she was very thankful. I've given many of those out, now I usually tell them to put a no trespassing sign up and that always works. What we could do is pick a day for antiwitness literature. Or an entire month, say, August is anti-jw month. I did notice a number of people taped over their paper boxes at voting time because they were literally gettin filled up with fliers. So November may not be the best time. Rest room, coffee houses, inside books at the library (like the NWT) the ideas are endless. Harder for the guys though, no purses to keep them in! (for most of you anyway)

I have found it to be more effective to speak to youth groups and college students because they are the ones who are most impressed by the JW's 'knowledge' of 'spiritual things' and are more apt to be tricked into a Watchtower 'Bible' Study when the deceived JW's ring their doorbells.

I would say not just no but PLEASE DON'T. You'll end up looking really weird and maybe next time the person will ask the witnesses "why are these creepy people following you around" opening the door for a witness. So please don't do it.

Besides everyone knows that the "witnessing work" is a fraud. They don't bring anyone into their organization anymore through this method (or at least so few that country wide (US) it's a loosing statistic) So all you can do is cause harm and make witnesses feel persecuted (which they love!)

You want to hurt the witnesses? Hit them where they live! A more effective use of time and money would be to rent a billboard across the street from the kingdom hall and put lots of little witness factoids with websites on it. You know that there are a LOT of witnesses that would check them out.
